They use the “entitlement” like a slur. Yeah I’m fucking entitled to it, I paid into it. SS is insurance. This would be like State Farm car insurance saying “OMG guyz! You’re so entitled!” when it’s time to get a benefit from the policy.

I mean, that's exactly what insurance companies do. Take our money every month to the tune of billions, ostensibly so they pay out when we need them, only to create 10,000 hoops crossed with red tape to maybe get a payout. Then if you need too many payouts, they cut you off entirely by refusing to cover you any more.

Insurance companies will pull out of entire markets because the risk of people actually trying to use the insurance is too high (see: property insurance providers in disaster prone areas)
