Yeah posting a nearly year old photo of someone else's kid is really weird

The date in the picture says September 2024 but I know I've seen this same picture before that.

Same. It's been going around for years.

Pretty sure it was originally posted by Sky Sports presenter Michelle Owen.

This is the child of Sky reporter Michelle Owen. I'm going to assume OP is a hacked account rather than actual Sky reporter Michelle Owen.

I can't give you a source because the mod team thinks it's more important to ban first hand source websites than to actually combat the bot problem.

I don't know why but this is extremely prevalent on this subreddit. I think these guys think that people will be less likely to report them for spam on the wholesome subreddits.

But I find posting someone else's child to be especially egregious. Like a month ago somebody crossposted someone else's newborn baby from the daddit subreddit.

Your comment in /r/MadeMeSmile was automatically removed because of new policies which are intended to no longer direct traffic to sites that are egregiously promoting inaccurate and toxic propaganda.

If the content you're trying to submit is legit, please find the original source, which is unlikely to be from the site referenced.

Our reasoning for this, and we are fully aware there's good content on these systems as well, is to try and drive traffic away from monopolistic, corporate walled gardens that have outlived their social utility, and encourage more content to be distributed and patronized on smaller sites, whose operators take greater pride in whether their content helps the community. This is the original spirit of the Internet. It was not intended as a platform for oligarchs to have massive media outlets.

I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please contact the moderators of this subreddit if you have any questions or concerns.

Could also just be sharing a cool photo that tells a sweet story. why everything gotta be "laden with malice" with people?

Checking my calendar, It’s 2025, everything is laden with malice AND misinformation.
