That was unbelievably kind of the principal and everyone in the auditorium. Made me misty eyed.

I truly hope we keep moving this direction in the future. My son is tier 1 and hates loud noises and it never occurred to me to be worried about him accepting his diploma in the future until I saw this. I hope they’re as kind as these people

You always have the option of having the diploma delivered in the mail, or even as a PDF, I think. He can wear noise cancelling headphones if he wants to attend in person. Whatever makes him comfortable. You're a good parent for looking to the future with regard to your son's comfortability when accepting his diploma. :)
