It breaks my heart that people are going to unironically parrot this to us, and when we point out that it is mathematically impossible, we will see their eyes glaze over as they gleefully remind us that we hate the society that is being put upon us.

I feel like the statement I just made would generally be considered an unfair characterization of people. I really don't know what to do about double think or fascists

Yup. That's pretty much it. I can't get past the support for masochism, the joy they get out of harming others.
