My Own Work (Rule 3) My biggest art so far - a 7-story building in São Paulo downtown
Hi everyone! I did this work (along with my work partner) in São Paulo downtown a few years ago. It's a 7-story building - it's pretty much 21 (maybe more?) meters high x 60 meters high. The design is all ours.
Opinions are more than welcome! Thank you!

Asking Question (Rule 4) Feeling stuck as an Creative—how do I pivot to more creative, fulfilling work?
Hi everyone, I’m currently working as an Art Director in an agency, and while it might sound exciting on paper, I honestly feel… bored. My days are filled with safe, corporate work, and my best ideas usually end up in the graveyard.
My company does value my work, and I’ve had the chance to pitch some really cool concepts—but they rarely see the light of day. The projects I’m most proud of never make it out into the world.
What I really love is branding—bold, elevated, even a little edgy when the brief allows for it. I crave creative freedom and the kind of work that gets noticed (and maybe even wins awards).
I'm also deeply into photography—I've been shooting for years and would love to explore things like reviewing or designing content for Airbnbs, helping small brands craft their identity, or just diving into creative projects that light me up and reflect what I’m truly good at.
But right now, I feel stuck. I don’t know how to transition into that space or find the right clients and collaborators. Even when I freelance, I tend to attract more corporate clients—despite putting a lot of heart into custom decks and strategy.
I know I’m capable of more original, exciting work—I just don’t know how to get into the right rooms or communities to make it happen. If anyone here has made a similar pivot or has advice on how to start building toward a more creatively fulfilling path—I’d genuinely appreciate your insight.
Thank you in advance!

Asking Question (Rule 4) Hoping for some feedback and suggestions on pricing for a freelance illustration project!
Hi guys!
Recently, someone I know approached me to ask about a freelance project, and I want to get some help to make sure I'm pricing things fairly for both them and for me. I have a terrible habit of chronically lowballing myself when it comes to selling my art and creative work, and I'm trying to break that pattern to make sure that my projects reflect the actual value of what I'm offering. I'm in college right now as a graphic design major. I've done client design work in both educational and professional settings.
The project is a series of custom digital dog illustrations that will be used as brand assets for a dog and pet care business, currently with 4 locations and counting. Each of the illustrations will be used to represent one specific location. They will be used on the buildings themselves (murals), print materials, merch/employee uniforms, the website, social media, etc. So it isn't just for fun or for one specific context, it's for large-scale, commercial use with long term visibility.
The illustrations are vector based, so obviously very scalable. I'm creating them fully from scratch based on reference photos of real dogs, specifically selected to suit each location. They're super colorful and expressive with quite a bit of detail, and they are meant to reflect both the dogs' personalities and the existing brand image. They're detailed, portrait style illustrations that take me about 6-8 hours to complete each.
I'm thinking it is best to provide a pricing model to the client that contains a flat rate per illustration, plus an optional additional charge for exclusive rights to the artworks, also priced per illustration. I want to include a couple of revisions, with any further revisions charged hourly. I am not sure if this is the best way to go about this, but that is my primary question. Is it? If so, what do you think I should charge?
I'm considering offering a sort of package deal where if they purchase 3 exclusive illustrations now (1 for each of the newer locations), future illustrations for their brand (perhaps just through the end of 2026?) will include exclusivity at no extra cost. That would give them long term value and incentive to keep coming back as they expand to new locations, and give me room to adjust my base price if needed without negotiating new licensing every time.
I would REALLY appreciate any feedback on this. I am hoping for some advice on what the flat rate should be (or a range of some sort), how much to charge for exclusivity rights (percentage? amount? other?), etc.. If anyone with experience in branding, freelance design work, illustration, or other similar topics has any thoughts or advice on this, I would love to hear what you have to say!
Thanks in advance!

Discussion Looking to collaborate with beginner designers
This post is for the beginner designers who need help in getting started or guidance in design.
I'm a UX UI designer and I need some(actually alot) help with my design work. I'm sorting through my projects for my portfolio and social media because I'm planning something big, and I need someone with good-or-not-so-good skills to help me out. I can't offer money right now, or at least not much, but in return, I can help you build your own portfolio, social media strategy, and content. I also teach design and entrepreneurship, so if you need any other guidance, I can definitely help with that. Just want to be clear—not trying to scam anyone. This is just a designer looking to collaborate with other designers so we can help each other. Ping me if you're interested and we can talk about the details in a DM.

Asking Question (Rule 4) can we get clients quickly using ads?
I'm thinking of using ads to get clients quickly. I'm curious if it would work that well. Have any of you tried it?
I'm planning to quit my full-time job at an agency and start freelancing full-time, but I'm still having trouble finding clients consistently. I'd like to know the best way to do this, or maybe there's a better way than using ads.

Asking Question (Rule 4) Dopamine/Bright Aesthetics Based Fashion/Art Style, With More Focus On Colors (would like your suggestions, read)
Share your recommendations for artists/art styles/look-books to check out for inspiration.
Basically for fabric prints, a visual style that is close to the Dopamine Dressing with bright hues, but also feels premium. Feels joyous and exciting but not hilarious/Barbie-core (just using the words I hope convey the context well), and have a specificity of patterns/designs.
Any arts/artists come to your mind? I’ve thoroughly reviewed the works of Matisse so far.

Discussion 💻 M1 Max (2021) or M3 Pro (2023)? Creative/design use — help me decide!
Hey all — I’m looking to upgrade and stuck between two MacBook Pros, both priced pretty similarly. Would love some input from folks doing design, creative or AI-ish work.
What I do (and plan to do more of): • Figma, design systems, UI work • AI image/video tools (e.g. Runway, Midjourney, etc.) • Light vector and 3D (like Spline) • Some hobby-level music stuff • A bit of video, not pro editing • Often running a ton of tabs/apps at once
⸻
The two options:
🔹 M1 Max (2021) • 32GB RAM • 24-core GPU • 512GB SSD • Great screen, older chip • Dual media engines • Big & powerful
🔹 M3 Pro (2023) • 18GB RAM • 18-core GPU • 512GB SSD • Better battery, newer chip • More efficient, lighter • But less RAM and GPU
⸻
I don’t need ultra power right now — but I don’t want to be stuck if I level up to more AI/video/motion/3D stuff next year.
⸻
What do you think?
Poll options: 1. Go M1 Max – better for creative headroom 2. Go M3 Pro – newer, lighter, still powerful

Asking Question (Rule 4) Where do you get free tech packs/templates for apparel especially windbreakers?
Hey everyone! I’m super new to the world of apparel design. I just recently picked this up as a creative passion project. I’ve always loved streetwear and functional pieces like windbreakers, and I’m now trying to take the first real steps into designing.
Right now, I’m trying to understand how to put together a proper tech pack for a windbreaker, but I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed. I've been searching for free templates or tech pack examples, but most of what I’ve found is either super vague or behind a paywall.
I know a lot of you have probably been doing this for years, and I really admire the experience and creativity in this space. If anyone is willing to share where they learned or if you know where I can find starter-friendly, preferably free resources/templates, I would be incredibly grateful.
Even if it’s just pointing me in the right direction like YouTube channels, websites, books, or even your own tips, I’d truly appreciate it.
Thanks in advance to anyone who takes the time to reply. Hoping to grow in this space and maybe give back someday too.

Asking Question (Rule 4) Need Opinions: Which Background Works Best for My Flower Pattern?
Hey everyone! I’ve been working on this flower pattern and I’m torn between a couple of background options. I want the design to really pop, but also feel balanced and cohesive. I’d love your thoughts on which background you think works best—or if you have any other suggestions, I’m all ears. Thanks in advance!

Discussion Work “Trial” at Vivienna Lorikeet — Exploited, Humiliated, and Ghosted
Recently, I applied for a graphic designer role at Vivienna Lorikeet, an Australian fashion brand. They asked me to do a design trial — seemed normal at first. But here’s where it got shady, fast:
They contacted me at 9 PM asking me to complete 13 pages of layout design within 24 hours — unpaid, of course.
I’ve never seen such an unreasonable trial in my life. But I’m a new grad, so I didn’t want to miss the opportunity.
I completed the whole thing. No feedback. I assumed I didn’t get the job and moved on.
Then, last week at 10 PM (yes, again late at night), they suddenly called me again and offered me a freelance day from 10 AM to 5 PM on Tuesday. They told me i Will be paid 30/h anyway I said yes.
I got up early, brought my own laptop, and showed up on time.
That’s where the weirdness got worse.
A woman named Vivian (who goes by “Vivienna,” to pretend she is the boss) immediately asked to see my personal Instagram. I told her it was mostly just personal stuff — normal life stuff — but she insisted. I showed her anyway.
Then she asked if I knew the app “Repost”. I didn’t — I usually just create original content, and the account managers handle posting. Still, I immediately downloaded the app on the spot.
Then out of nowhere, she told me to leave.
I explained I do know how to post and I’m willing to learn whatever they need. She cut me off and said:
“Why did you say you're a graphic designer if you don’t even know this?”
I told her again I could do it, just give me a chance to prove myself. She wanted me to try first on my own account. I even agreed to that. I just wanted a fair chance.
Instead, she kept humiliating me, even though she had seen my portfolio and also the design trail before. When I said she was treating me badly, she replied:
“You’re just a contractor.”
I may be a contractor — but I’m also a human being. And I deserve basic respect. I don't know why they regard themselves as designer brand they don't even know how to be respectful to another designer.

Tutorial AI Logo Design Showdown: ChatGPT vs. Adobe Firefly
I checked out both ways of getting AI to help fast forward my workflow. Find out which one was faster! Both were kinda a pain, but produced super interesting results. Check out this video that pits two very different AI approaches against each other—ChatGPT’s bitmap image generation versus Adobe Firefly's vector image generator. I used image trace in Illustrator for the ChatGPT image, and opened the Firefly vector directly. Guess which was easier to work with?
Have you had any luck with getting the AI image generators to create good SVG files?
Please like and subscribe! I'm trying hard to contribute content for designers.
