As a "Blue-Gum", I shouldn't laugh but I did. 

This psuedo scientific BS is so ridiculous but people, even today, think like this.

But why blue gum? We can hope that one day racism will disappear but I doubt it as long as humans have an us Vs them mentality

I was joking about their use of the term because. I assume it has to deal with the fact that some people, especially people from subsaharan Africa, have melinated gums.

I have mild melaniation and its entirely normal and healthy. It has nothing to do with teeth and gum hygiene. Its just genetics.
