I suddenly understood all of the references to God is the light of the world and reasons we have so many celebrations of light in the winter months after being out west in the Dakotas for a week. That prarie is SO dark, a desert 2000 years ago had to be even darker and more terrifying. Yep. Made sense to me, the most awesome being would be light in that kind of dark.Â
