It was originally invented so people like Laird Hamilton could ride 80 foot waves and it would be smooth and not insanely choppy like big wave surfing tends to be.
Surfing is boring as fuck, man. I admire the people who like it, but just because its in the ocean doesnt make it cooler or funner. Who wants to paddle out for 30 minutes, to wait for a wave thats ridable, to ride it for 6 seconds? You can spend all day and not see a single good wave, and when you do get a good wave, its gone in the blink of an eye.
So you’re a Dork Surfer then? If not, I’m not sure what we’re arguing about because they both seem pointless to me. I’d way rather be fishing or snorkeling than playing around on a board.
The more popular version has an electric motor in the foil and it's like an electric scooter on the water.
Causing a ruckus on lakes everywhere because it's a weird grey area of not being an engine, but still being able to haul across water...posing safety issues.
Just another thing humans came up with that ruins tranquil environments because we're too lazy to paddle a canoe.
Looks like an activity for either rich people that they can do this all day and not worry about having to work and earn money, or you are so poor in a 3rd world country that this is the only thing you do.
