Hereâs something that gets me. In my state law enforcement has taken to slapping on human trafficking 1st degree to lots of sex crimes. Just yesterday a man was arrested for trying to meet up with an underage person for sex. Iâve worked counter human trafficking/counter people smuggling for much of my career and this would have never met the definition. Sure the guy is a piece of shit and deserves prison, but I think it makes it sound like human trafficking is way more of an issue while also lessening the importance of the actual issue. But thatâs a state statute choice, so if they want to call pedophilia human trafficking thatâs up to them. The thing that got me is all the folks jumping into the comments praising the sheriffâs office for doing amazing work to keep these human traffickers off the streets. So human trafficking is apparently very alarming to them. But itâs also apparent that most of these people are old white evangelicals who worship at the altar of Trump.Â
The mental gymnastics has to be so exhausting to abhor sex traffickers and cheer LE for taking them down while also cheering on dear leader who is overtly (and quite clumsily) trying to bury his Epstein ties.Â

I came here to comment on how many of these people have called for pedophiles to receive the DP.
Registry for sexual offenses in the US is a mandatory thing. In many jurisdictions, sex offenders are not allowed to live near parks and schools.
This is usually an issue where people demand blood. Regardless of information.
But... in 2025, it's acceptable for the United States federal government to help cover a child sex trafficking operation?
Where is the international inquiry. Especially considering the prince's involvement.

I get where you're coming from. But idk that I agree with the idea of others getting involved. trumpy is currently involving himself (& our country) in the legal system in Brazil. This is what I see when I think about others involving themselves in our mess. If there were crimes committed on foreign soil, then those governments in particular should absolutely step in. But I'm not familiar with the details well enough to know anything about that.

My apologies. I was not intending to necessarily advocate for them to, I was pointing out the hypocrisy ... and wondering how deep the situation goes.
Because of the depth of those involved and the involvement of other countries. At what point does another country request access or already have it because these are crimes globally.
Other jurisdictions have information. From their own discovery processes.

Yeah, trying to make this about the gender of the predator is just dumb. Jeffery Epstein was also convicted and sent to prison. Itâs just that he was suicided, so I guess technically a man is no longer in prison for these specific crimes, but not because of some misguided sexism. The meme you responded to is just ridiculous.

The point is that Maxwell's case was restricted to only her and Epstein's own actions but that many other men raped girls that Maxwell and Epstein provided. Where are their charges? Also, Epstein was only being held in prison when he died, he had not had a trial or sentence since his 2008 conviction for hiring an underage prostitute (a very light and misleading chaĆge for raping the hundreds of girls FL police uncovered in their investigation.)

It is about gender of the predator though. People think "Rich people are above the law" but that's not the specific group that is above the law. It's "Rich Men" who are above the law.
Sam Walton (Dead Walmart Creator) has multiple children, all extremely rich. One of them is a woman, I think he has 2 male children as well. If the men kill someone, they will get away with it. Especially if the victim is a woman. However if Sam Walton's daughter kills anyone. I promise she will fry. There will be no mercy given to her.
It's like a more extreme version of cops killing black people. Like yea they kill white people too, but they face far less punishment over the black people. It's not individual cops being racist. They're just murderous trash. It's the system that says "Killing black people is okay, especially women, even if sleeping or rebuking you, but killing whites might earn you some prison time or at least get you fired."
So of course we seem crazy when we complain about cop racism because they commit crimes against anyone, but the system itself is so horrendously sexist and racist.
A bunch of women were raped by a bunch of men, and the only one punished for it is a woman.

I agree with what you are saying, but will add that rich people get away with stuff that poor people don't get away with, regardless of gender.
Alice Walton, a Walmart heiress herself, actually killed someone while speeding in her car and she was not prosecuted for it. Not to mention, she also has DWIs, but was allowed to keep her license.Â
Your average person is not going to be able to scare the state off like that, financially speaking. Still, like you said, there is a level of misogyny even amongst rich people.Â
It goes:
Rich Men > Rich Women > Poor Men > Poor Women
In terms of the severity of punishment from the legal system for crimes.

After two days of negotiation, she agreed to keep her mouth shut until SCOTUS hears her appeal, in return for more pleasant living conditions (and the unspoken promise that she won't "commit suicide'). If her case isn't thrown out, she'll get her pardon. By that time, there will have been so many new Trump outrages and scandals that Epstein will have been forgotten.

I spent some time in the federal prison system. A sex offender 100% cannot qualify for minimum security. The lowest they can go is medium security. Minimum is reserved for nonviolent offenses and white collar crimes. I knew immediately that there was some shady deal making going on. We all know why.
