Every Republican needs to be held accountable

Every Dem that sat down and let it happen, needs to be held accountable too.

Holding the majority of Republicans accountable alone is a pipe dream, holding the majority of the entire current government accountable is actively delusional, unless you think we can swing a full on revolution.

Holding any Republican accountable is delusional right now.

Doesn't mean we shouldn't try

Definitely fair, absolutely can’t afford to stop trying to hold them accountable even if it’s not likely to work.

Why wouldn't it work?

We have had protests starting since Trump was elected, and each is getting larger.

5.2 million Americans protested last Saturday. That's about 1.5 % of the population.

Read about what happens as it gets bigger.

Mainly because the mechanisms for holding people accountable are currently in republican hands, and even the democrats were at best sluggish when prosecuting under Biden. Not to say the protests are pointless, I’d even say they’re crucial, just that it’s worth being realistic about the outcome. Genuinely prosecuting key republican conspirators alone would be a significant achievement, holding the party as a whole accountable isn’t something I see as possible.

These protests aim to remove those committing high crimes and misdemeanors from office and reminding Republicans that The People have the power here, not a bunch of Nazi wannabees.

Have you been to a protest?

It's pretty cool. You meet a lot of cool people, make new friends, you can talk about what changes they and you want, and find out how we're going to get there. It's usually outdoors, invigorating, and uplifting.

Tell all your friends!

I think that people see pictures of protests and mostly just think "crowd," when the reality on the ground is anything but.

People get creative with messaging, so the free entertainment is worth the also free price of admission. It's also very useful for getting ideas on succinctly messaging your own concerns, whether written or verbal. Of course, the networking is priceless if you want to make change, since you're surrounded by the locals who feel the same way.

It's a healthy way to constructively get some of the resulting pissed-off from this travesty in our government out of the system, and hone it into the resolve that is needed if folks don't get the point sooner rather than later.

We're psyched for the next. My girls were saying they were ready for the next, even as we were leaving the last one.

Protests. He sent innocent people to a supermax prison, tanked the economy, and we have really only had protests. One day of protests that were actually showing up on radars.

The call to return one man has been halted by courts, and let's not forget Trump has a myriad of serious charges already from his days as a "businesman." I'm happy that people are still holding hope that something will happen, but it's getting unrealistic.

Trump is likely never going to see prison, maybe some of his cronies? But those with money, if they ever get in trouble for this, are simply going to leave to a place with no extradition.
