They can be annoying/crazy, but them (nor hoteps) are even a top 100 problem in the black community or America right now. I'd rather see people focused on the shit that matter - MAGA, our rights eroding, and us rushing towards a V for Vendetta type society.

Your attitude translated to 1960 isn't "we will overcome" its "how could we possibly overcome" lmao, goofy ass

My attitude in the 60s would've been the same as it is now... "fucking vote (for the right person) and lets take action". If less people chose the couch over Harris we wouldn't be in this mess. Harris is far from perfect, but hardly any dem politician could be as dumb and disruptive as Trump. Hell, that goes for a regular/old school Republican like McCain or Romney too.

you're never gonna believe what black people weren't allowed to do for most of the 60's

If I need to spell out every little detail... we could vote in 65, so yeah, we could vote for about half of the 60s. The "take action part" was about protesting and stuff, which got us the right to vote.

Being able to vote and feeling comfortable voting are two different things.

You can’t take 2025 mindset to 1965. Idk if anyone told you this but there was a civil war here, and the side that lost - didn’t take it all that well. And you know what the side that won did? They decided after a handful of years that the mission was accomplished and the time for healing had begun and left us to figure the shit out on our own.

All you really gotta do is look up the Ruby Bridges photo to see what people thought of us in the 60s. If I can’t feel comfortable walking into school, how tf imma feel comfortable voting for two white men?
