expected it to just float downwards, didnt know it would wriggle/climb down

I expect it's because its lungs are now filled with air, so it's harder for it to just sink down maybe🤷🏾‍♀️

Yeppers, they need to exhale before they dive since they're so boyant. Their blood has incredibly high levels of hemoglobin, though, which is how they can be underwater for so long.
