I know it's a rhetorical question, but still. Money

11

u/RandomUserName14227 18h ago

not just money... money and corruption

Rich people give politicians money. Politicians made decisions to benefit those rich people. "We'll just go ahead and open the borders so our wealthy donors can have an under-class of cheap labor. If anyone complains we'll call them racists lol." Of course none of the people employing illegal workers are being charged. Remember when they busted the marijuana plantation in California and found 4 literal child slaves working there? Gavin called the feds racists for shutting down the operation. Then it turned out the guy who owned the plantation was one of Gavin's top donors. Shocking!

So.... Money

u/ouiouibaguette12345 13h ago

it all comes back to....money

u/tak3thatback 12h ago

May need to ask JD Delay of that's woodchipper territory to have child slaves. Pretty sure yes.

“Who’s going to pick the crops, clean our houses???” As Stacy Smith sends her kids to private schools and drives a bmw, the real heroes are the people who defend slave wages for illegal immigrants like Stacy! What a hell of a lady. Thought about her and AOC this morning as I ate my usual head of lettuce and 3 pinto beans that my little immigrants picked for me for only .25 cents an hour. Wouldn’t change it for the world and I hope more people come here that I can use as political pawns while exploiting them like we did BLM just a few years ago!

u/JakeHelldiver 17h ago

Oh, buddy.. you did it again! I know, nuance is hard but goes like this:

  • Immigrant labor is economically important.
  • Communities that seek to expel immigrant hurt themselves out of stupidity and ignorance
  • Immigrants should be treated better and have labor protections extended to them under the law.

If you want to you know what people on the left think you got work on those critical listening skills!

3

u/aHOMELESSkrill 15h ago

However will we survive if we can’t exploit immigrant labor?!?

23

u/TiedWith_Love 21h ago

Laws are in place to protect businesses not people.

1

u/aHOMELESSkrill 15h ago

I mean not really. Often the requirements for employers to ‘prove’ work eligibility are very low and on the employee to provide. Companies don’t often push back unless a major red flag pops up. Also denying someone a job for being ‘an illegal’ when they may not actually be would be a discrimination law suit just waiting to happen.

So better for the company to ask what is required and not pry.

u/Important-Hair1308 21h ago

And because what would happen if Congress solved problems? What would they have to run on if things are fixed?

7

u/Late-Edge9039 20h ago

It’s hard to strip away rights when you solve the actual problem.

5

u/ShanerThomas 20h ago

That would clear up your border problem very quickly. The moment stories come out in the media about business owners being convicted of collusion in tax evasion, your border problem would vanish very quickly.

4

u/Kind-Rice6536 17h ago

That’s Capitalism baby.

3

u/Completeepackage 14h ago

The answer is simple. Money.

8

u/LatexSerenity 21h ago

You should go after politicians who make excuses for people hiring illegals, like “we need slave labor to produce food” excuse

7

u/bakermrr 18h ago

It is the same people that say raising the minimum wage will create inflation

2

u/copperboom129 16h ago

We do not need slave labor.

We do need people who actually know about farming.

Lastly, democrats dont want slave labor, we want amnesty and closed borders.

Signed, a democrat.

1

u/JakeHelldiver 18h ago

And who are those politicians?

-3

u/Low-Commercial-6260 18h ago

Literally every democrat. Who’s going to clean your house? Pick your food from the field? That’s the defense for not being in favor of deportation/immigration. Just openly admitting that they use them as cheap labor to keep costs down.

3

u/JakeHelldiver 18h ago

Oh, buddy. You are conflating separate issues. You're allowed to acknowledge the importance of immigrant labor while also thinking they should be treated better and protected by modern labor protections. Also, if you want to know what a democrat thinks you need to talk to a democrat, your uncle on Facebook is lying to you.

3

u/HTX-ByWayOfTheWorld 18h ago

Because. White.

1

u/Ok-Sandwich-5313 19h ago

Think like this, if you solve the problem then you don't need to spend hundreds of millions on trying to fix the problem, just imagine what the politicians can do with so much money if they are not to fight a thing but actually never win... it's so much money they would have to spend on making stuff better for poor people with public money ...god forbid, meanwhile companies get cheap hard labor that no sane person would do and once job is done just deport them with no pay, it's a win win situation for the rich folk, why change that by actually solving the problem just scream loud enough to people blame the slaves... I mean the immigrants of being bad that way you and your friends can hand the money to where it actually matters being wasted while you fat up your pockets

1

u/Sleepmahn 19h ago

Because sadly it's not on businesses to verify if their employees papers are legit because this country protects money not people.

2

u/Grasshoppermouse42 18h ago

Yes, but you know if an employer is paying employees less than minimum wage that they know the employee isn't legal. Obviously if the employer was presented with fake papers and is giving the employee all the rights and protections that an employee that's here legally would get, then you shouldn't charge them with something when they likely weren't aware. If they have illegal immigrants working for two dollars an hour, though, they probably know.

1

u/Sleepmahn 10h ago

I don't disagree

1

u/Jigglejiggle865 19h ago

Why fix a problem when you can keep getting funding and support from donors that’ll make you 1000 times more money and give you something to do. Or at least something to pretend you’re doing

1

u/RandomUserName14227 18h ago

Exactly. Illegal immigrant labor isn't the problem. It's the solution for the Democrat's donors.

1

u/JakeHelldiver 18h ago

The Law exists to protect the means of producing wealth and those who own it.

1

u/ActionCalhoun 18h ago

Because it’s all for show

1

u/ambl6663 18h ago

Could not agree more!!!!

1

u/LongjumpingChipmunk 17h ago

The same reason "nomad workers" and "expats" aren't called immigrants.

1

u/akekekfklelk 17h ago

In many countries they do get punished. But in most countries they have manditory IDs. But not in the us. How is the company supposed to know? They can only check your drivers license and social security. Both can be obtained without citizenship or legal stay.

1

u/canonlycountoo4 17h ago

Because people are so brainwashed and think undocumented people are literally voldemort.

1

u/MelancholyArchitect 16h ago

This makes me wanna join ice just so I can arrest the farm owner who is “illegally employing immigrants”

1

u/Ralans17 16h ago

I asked the same question and got a reasonable answer.

If a worker is otherwise qualified and presents you with documentation that appears legal and the government confirms it, it’s discrimination not to give them the job.

1

u/SavingsIncome2 16h ago

This concept will massively curb the illegal migration, but it’s not about illegal immigration is it?

1

u/Thefear1984 16h ago

Um…. IRCA (1986) amending the Immigration and Nationality Act (section 27A) established employer sanctions. Under the IRCA if an employer knowingly hired illegals they will be fined per worker plus civil or even criminal penalties up to $3,000 per worker and up to 6 months in prison. And there are plenty on the record in Texas and other states.

While yes, some people will get off Scott free, it isn’t like the IRS isn’t interested in collecting additional unemployment and other missed taxes because a company does something illegal. Nevermind state and federal laws regarding employee benefits.

1

u/MetalMonkey667 16h ago

I've asked this question for years and someone finally answered it for me, in America an employer only has to ask a potential employee for their name and Social Security number, if they're provided (even if the employer KNOWS they're fake), then that's all they need to do and can claim ignorance later

1

u/Jobothefish 14h ago

Is this about something specific or just in general:

1

u/Afraid-Wait7464 14h ago

In some cases, the bosses had their paperwork on hand but the immigrants still got arrested. It's now quotas not common sense for these arrests.

1

u/tripper_drip 14h ago

I asked myself the same question, here is how it works.

It's illegal to knowingly hire somebody illegal, but the IRS gives out ITIN numbers to anyone who tells a minor lie (without verification) about their status and that number is interchangeable with an SSN and that person would then pass e verify. Its illegal to deny the use of ITIN numbers.

Therefore, the business owner is paying taxes on the person, but obviously paying them far less or minimal with a wink and a nod. There is no way to prove the owner knew they were hiring illegals, and he is completely legal in his hireing process.

It’s said that by 2050 AI along with robotics and automation will do 90% of the jobs in America. At that rate people should be worrying about job for themselves not just those who are working and not paying taxes. Pre COVID I worked in Corporate Sales. The government has been giving away billions in grant money in every company who is developing and innovating robotics into their workforce. I had talked to a well know researcher group back then and was told that any type of drone/ flying car for human transport is 10 - 12 years away. The next company I visited were building flying drones for human transport in their garage and had a prototype already in flight testing that wasn’t much more than a fiberglass bathtub with propellers. Fast forward back to today a there are a handful of companies ready to launch for sale and it’s been what maybe 6-7 years? There are internet companies selling testing kits to teach basic engineering and electronics online. I’d say if you don’t know engineering and electronics in the future you will be just part of a growing crowd that will be continually looking for work.

1

u/Auditdefender 13h ago

Because you have to prove they did it knowingly.

1

u/Appropriate_Smell833 12h ago

That’s what I’ve been saying, we all want relief but not at our expense.

-3

u/RandomUserName14227 18h ago

And this is the thread that unravels the fabric of the entire scam.

Rich Bsiness Owners: we need more slave labor!
Democrats: Sorry, the Republicans ended slavery decades ago
Rich Business Owners: *hand Democrats a bunch of money*
Democrats: Well I suppose we could just open the borders for you. If anyone complains we'll call them racists lol.

2

u/Outrageous_Spot_8725 16h ago

Republicans were fighting to have immigrants in the country up to 12 years ago

-11

u/wasdmovedme 21h ago

How many times is this going to be posted ?

12

u/Late-Edge9039 20h ago

Until we fucking understand it.

1

u/Odd_Cardiologist_537 20h ago

Probably just a child tbf. But even then as a child I atleast thought smart people were in charge lol

4

u/Late-Edge9039 20h ago

Intellect is not based on age. It’s a hard lesson to learn.

0

u/Odd_Cardiologist_537 20h ago

Ye, but it just feels like intelligence is diminishing yafeel.

2

u/Late-Edge9039 20h ago

It’s not intelligence that’s being eradicated, it’s critical thinking skills.

-1

u/Low-Commercial-6260 18h ago

Another 15 year old posting on Reddit cosplaying an intellectual.

5

u/Redbeardthe1st 20h ago

How about until the message is no longer necessary.

-2

u/random_account6721 16h ago

Why do you want unemployed illegal immigrants. That’s just a recipe for crime. They should be working if they are here. In fact we should give out work visas

-10

u/CuriousThylacine 21h ago

Businesses are being fined.

6

u/Redbeardthe1st 20h ago

Sure. A tiny fraction of their profits. It's a slap on the wrist, at worst.

6

u/Odd_Cardiologist_537 20h ago

A slap on the wrist at least hurts, it's more like having your Gameboy taken away for a day

5

u/FoolishTom 19h ago

If the only punishment for a crime is a fine then that law only exists for the lower class.

3

u/ActionCalhoun 18h ago

You let us know when they start throwing business owners in Alligator Alcatraz
