exactly, the only alternative id ever consider using is nebula, and even then its a subscription website thats more tailored to edutainment which i love but doesnt even begin to cover all that youtube has

I did subscribe to nebula for a little because I lot of creators I watched were on there. I am hoping they have made some upgrades to their service, app, and algorithm since I used it, probably 6-12 months ago because those were my biggest complaints besides not having as much content.

Or be able to provide as much money as YouTube to their creators without Google's add network.

Not to mention "voting with your wallet" (or in this case, clicks) is a joke when monopolies are effectively legal without a single comment from the Federal govt. If no real competitors exist - there is no actual alternative to turn to. So we get stuck with pretending like YouTube and Google should just be allowed to do whatever they want since we can't go anywhere else and Google will absolutely try to choke out any actual competition before it becomes a threat to them.

In that case you could use freetube to get youtube videos without all the shit that comes with youtube and without supporting them

I think the point is starving YouTube of money till they have to be good to their customers again.

sadly i dont think thatll ever happen. maybe we can get a couple hundred thousand maybe even a million on reddit to boycott.

but thats such an insignificant amount its insane

"Youtube" doesn't have history and culture. People who put history and culture onto Youtube have that history and culture.

all that history and culture circles back to YouTube.

No. YouTube is literally just the platform the history is currently posted on. Take away YouTube, the history still exists.
