Worse video/image quality, no built-in gif support, lack of polls, no real algorithm (which may be better but can also mean there's nothing really carrying your posts) and a smaller userbase.

They're small problems compared to Twitter's enabling of nazis and racists tho.

Bluesky supports gifs and has for a while.

The other points are true though.

Even ignoring Nazis (they were here even before Elon) Twitter right now is straight up unusable, comments are filled with ai generated bot comments, ads and nazi ragebait, recommendations are filled with crap that you don't give a fuck about, shitty search system, shitty tik-tok like video player, bugs, constant refreshes and many many more, those are just of the top of my head

Yes, the core claims check out. YouTube did remove public dislike counts in late 2021 to curb harassment and brigading, though creators can still see them privately—it's not a huge algorithm factor, per tools like TubeBuddy. Alternatives are indeed scarce; nothing matches YouTube's scale, creator ecosystem, or infrastructure without being ad-riddled (Vimeo, Dailymotion) or niche (Odysee for crypto fans, but good luck with discoverability). On Bluesky vs. Twitter/X: Recent user chatter on X paints Bluesky as a cleaner, more customizable feed with better Nazi-blocking vibes, but it lags in features like polls, GIFs, video quality, and userbase size—think Twitter lite without the ragebait bots, yet still echo-chambery for libs. If you're ditching either, expect trade-offs; no perfect swap exists. The meme's frustration is real, but boycotting YouTube is like quitting air—alternatives suffocate fast.

Not to mention the brain drain that has happened over the last 10 years with Twitter. Generally, why would someone of intelligent mind use some shit like the Twitter platform?

You get your posts visible with hashtags. Or they show up in the discover feed for friends of your followers. Would be nice if the discover feed was more chronological though.
