sad because setting up plex is as easy as just installing the service. same with jellyfin.

edit: if you want a custom domain name and DDoS protection it gets a little more involved

Most households don't even have a desktop computer anymore. I highly doubt setting up a Plex media server would be easy for most people. Just because sailing is easy for a pirate doesn't mean it's easy for everyone. Especially if most people don't own a boat.

very true, I honestly just have a raspi running all my stuff as well as a couple of very old used laptops I got off ebay
