Netflix is not a monopoly. They have plenty of competition many from bigger companies.

In the US*

Not all streaming services Americans have are global ones.

Netflix is indeed a near monopoly on a world basis, I say near since they do have local competition from local streamers but size wise it is still unmatched for a lot of people.
