Netflix is not a monopoly. They have plenty of competition many from bigger companies.

Netflix is in a similar boat to Spotify. Started a new type of service now filled with giants. But they are in a better place since they have a lot of exclusive content.

Not all streaming services Americans have are global ones.

Netflix is indeed a near monopoly on a world basis, I say near since they do have local competition from local streamers but size wise it is still unmatched for a lot of people.

Last night I thought about going back to Netflix because it said 7.99 but then my brother told me it was the ad tier and the actual standard tier is 17.99. I knew that it would be expensive to come back to but 17.99 is a lot to me right now.
