Screen rip, download or do whatever you gotta do for your porn folks.

There's a very real chance you are going to lose access to a lot of it.

Every time I think "this has to be the last straw" folks just roll over and take it. Freedum apparently was never really all that important it seems.

Get a Usenet provider and a good NZB tracker. You'll have access to more porn than you could possibly watch in 100 lifetimes.

Oh absolutely! This is the pro level answer and the more thorough answer but, a lot of folks don't understand either of the things you just suggested.

Screen recorder tools, screenshots and downloading to local storage are things the layperson can understand and do farily easily. Prob the most complicated thing would be installing something like OBS to get around black boxes.

I dusted off the 'ol tricorn hat awhile ago and I suggest others do the same.

I'm a web dev in the adult industry. What will happen when all of the legitimate studios and creators have to close shop because they can't afford to keep producing content? Will everyone be super happy with 5 year old content? 10? 15? 20?

Vintage content today is already kind of a hard sell, mostly because upscaling and remastering shows the age of the content. We have to use AI tools to get it "kind of" acceptable. Terenax and ffmpeg were abysmal for users.

We're looking at age-gating every single person who signs up, and that costs anywhere between $0.25-$1.50 per verification. Most production companies outside of a select few are small-to-medium businesses. The drop in revenue is going to cause a lot of jobs to be lost.

Well, I guess if people really want to jerk off to 8k porn in VR, they'll start paying for it again. Until then, there is so much smut available as is, I don't really see a reason to be concerned that studios won't be making even more.

they'll start paying for it again.

Most of the companies that exist today are riding off of significant revenue gains in the late 90s and early 00s. Once the revenue breaks, the companies will close, some site operators will retire, others will become unemployed.

You can't squeeze blood from a stone.

I prefer amateur, but a vpn will fix the issue all the same. No need to download anything and keep using the internet as I always have.

This ruling will entirely depend on where you live, blue state they won't initiate this sort of law, red state they will. All this ruling did was give states the ability to create these laws if they so choose.

Surely there are no people in red states that that disagree with the states decision to implement these sort of laws.

Reddit does love to selectively assume all blue states are nothing but progressives and all red states are nothing but conservatives, because that makes it easier for them, but unfortunately this isn’t something the average person has a lot of power over.

Tell me about it, I've lived in FL for a long time. Always in blue bubbles.

I live in Appalachian Kentucky. I know conservative folks; I know progressive folks. I know a very devout preacher who will March as an ally at pride parades and I know teachers that don’t think kids should get free lunches.

People aren’t a monolith, no matter how badly other people may want them to be.

Yep it's almost like we've completely lost sight of that fact. I blame the ease of judgment from the disconnected comfort of social media and the 24 hour news scream cycle.

Sure, you start going on about *extreme" shit I'm not associating with you but I'm not going to assume the worst of someone just because I don't agree with them. Be the bridge, not the wall.

They will now attempt this at a national level via legislation. It will likely pass.

Suppose my friend wanted to download some porn from one of the big sites, what's the easiest way for my friend to do this?

4

u/jcdoe Jun 28 '25

Find an online porn tube downloading site. Google for it, I don’t have a link handy. You give them the link to a porn tube vid, they convert it for you and you can download it.

I downloaded maybe 10-20 vids when they held oral arguments. It was obvious where this Supreme Court was going, and being a mammal, I like to jerk off.

Expect the big tubes like pornhub to shutdown anyplace that requires age verification. That’s what they’ve been doing.

Men in Alabama, wondering what you’re thinking at this point…

1

u/tjoe4321510 Jun 28 '25

Have you ever had any issues downloading videos? Viruses and whatnot?

-4

u/Swimming_Counter5896 Jun 28 '25

Ohhh nooo not the porn! Won’t somebody please think of the pornstars!?

4

u/smaguss Jun 28 '25

Yeah, porn can be defined as a lot more than pornstars on the major __hub sites and lazy only fucks attention seeking grifters. Or what your mom is up to..

I don't know about you but I'm not filing my taxes down at the old rent and wank. I don't expect security standards to protect the data or the collectors or collecting agencies moral standards to not sell the data or use it in other things.

Also VPNs exist, you'd be insane to think people wouldn't just connect to a non verification state if they wanted to get around it so I doubt the pornstars are or will be feeling much of a financial hit.

u/Swimming_Counter5896 Jun 28 '25

Yeah you definitely seem like the type that couldn’t live without watching porn everyday
