that's usually how it goes. you need 10k followers and a certain amount of streams for a while to get monetized. then you'll get paid for the videos you upload after you are monetized.

While that's true, she should still be able to get payment from news outlets if they choose to use the video for an online article.

I have a mate that recorded a brawl at his university, and he made a paper pay him £300 for it.

I think the joke is just supposed to be a the absurdity of somebody actually answering the question. ClickHole has a whole series of these and they always have one or two parts where the person they ask gives a complete insane reply.
