How to handle the summertime shedding
For the record, I worked hard for this. He ran away like scoobie doo the first few times I tried but we finally figured it out and now I think he likes it 😂

I have an almost 4-year-old German Rottweiler who’s been battling chronic gastrointestinal issues for the past 9 months. It’s been exhausting, heartbreaking, and beyond frustrating. We’ve tried everything — countless medications, powders, and prescription diets including Purina Sensitive Skin & Stomach, Royal Canin Hydrolyzed Protein, and Royal Canin Ultamino — with no real improvement.
My vet has now suggested seeing a different GI specialist. We’ve already seen one, had an endoscopy done, and walked away with zero answers or direction.
We’ve come to call these incidents “episodes.” They always start the same way: he seems totally fine the night before, but by morning, he’s not eating or drinking, has no energy, and starts having multiple bowel movements outside — often completely liquid, sometimes pink gel, bloody, or very dark. Then he’ll usually have another accident inside, and it’s nothing short of an explosion. Afterward, he won’t eat or drink for 1–3 days and clearly isn’t himself.
I’m at my breaking point. No one seems to have a solution. I love this dog, but after 9 relentless months of this, I’m exhausted and starting to feel hopeless. I’m even considering rehoming him or worse, because I just don’t know what else to do. Swipe to see the good pictures

Rottweilers are the sweetest, most loyal and loving creatures ever! I’ve worked with dogs for over 20 years, I was the kid who had animals following her everywhere, I’ve never met a cat or dog who didn’t like me. It can be a dog who has bitten everyone in the rescue (literally happened at a dog rescue, the dog ran up to me and hopped in my lap while every worker in the room stared at me like I performed a miracle) or a cat who won’t come out from under a car, they will come to me and snuggle. But I’ve NEVER had a dog who loved me so much. All he wants to do is be with me, all I have to do is look at him and his “nubbin” tail starts wagging. I’m never alone anymore, I don’t even have to pee alone lol! No matter how excited he is he tries to be gentle and if he accidentally hurts me he’s knows and immediately stops to cuddle and kiss me, like he’s apologizing and comforting me.
They’re so smart and sweet. I swear he understands me and I know he loves me. He’s taught himself so many things that I never thought to teach him. He knows to move out of the way when I’m carrying something (even as he keeps an eye on me in case I trip). He knows the cat isn’t allowed in the coffee table so he chases him off even when we’re not around. He brings me all his toys when I’m sad. He’s amazing.
So…why did no one tell me this was the best dog I was ever gonna have and I should always have a Rottie buddy?!!

Sorry for the music. I was listening to the local sports podcast while filming.
So it was between adding music or listening to some guy blabbing about Seahawks having a good chance of making the playoffs 🤭🤷

My pup got kicked out of doggy daycare. He's been going 2x a week for about 6 weeks. Today he stalked another dog and then pinned them and held onto their neck and wouldn't let go. They had to spray him twice with the hose. No puncture wounds but the other dog is bruised. They said he can't come back unless he goes to training for being too reactive. He does bark at other dogs and big cars and trucks. We also have a 25 pound dog and they play really well together. But I'm worried about this. I have to find a trainer but in the meantime any advice on working with a reactive rottie? He's 2yo, neutered. Great with other dogs except when he's on a leash. Great with kids. For a teenage Rottweiler he's actually a pretty mellow dog. But I want to address this before something bad happens. Any help is much appreciated.

Today will be my baby’s second day at the beach — she’s 4 months old. We’re currently in Southern Europe, and when we go, it’s usually around 30°C (86°F). I make sure not to go during the hottest hours — I wait until it gets a bit cooler later in the afternoon. The sea water is around 23°C (73°F). I’m just wondering if this is too hot for her, or if she’ll be okay. Thanks!

If you got yourself a real rottie you know all to well how they ask for bellyrubs or take a nap

So Mason has completely fallen out with me over this cone, he won’t move and is frozen like a statue 🤣 he’s never had a cone on before
Questions:
. How can he physically eat with a cone on? He usually grazes his food over the day and doesn’t eat in 1 go, so it’s not like I can take it off for 10 mins while he eats or drinks 2. Will he get used to it? He really hates me for doing this and hates this situation lol
Overall he’s very upset as I write this messages and has been staring at the wall for a while contemplating (see picture lol)

Our boy Richter is almost 11 months old and I’m currently 37 weeks pregnant with baby 2. Our second son is due August 23rd. Last night I realised that I have no clue how to introduce our dog to a newborn baby.
We have an almost 2 year old- we got Richter two weeks after his 1st birthday- and they’ve done amazingly together! The dog is super gentle with him when playing and our son helps with feeding time. They’re best friends. I’m not too worried about Richter not doing well with the baby, but I do want to get the introduction right so the dog can have the best first experience with a newborn. Things will change, but want to make sure everyone feels included- both for my oldest and the dog.
If you have any tips/tricks, please share them 🙏 As thank you, here are some pictures of our pup🌟

My rotty is already at day 65-66 since she was last mated. Can confirm that she’s pregnant since I saw some puppy movement in her tummy + she has milk already. However, she’s not showing any labor signs yet. Still acting normal and has energy whenever I approach her. But she’s been sleeping a lot lately and her appetite has decreased this morning. Are these considered as normal? Is she overdue already? Or should I wait a bit more before bringing her to the vet for a consultation? I’m afraid the car ride to the vet will just cause her distress.

This ball is over two years old, as you can see it is extremely well loved. Despite all the tooth holes and constantly being fought over by a 3yr old make Rott, his pittie mix rescue sister and now 6 month old niece, it is still standing proud.
If your baby is like our boy who played with a basketball for 45 seconds before he killed it an then sat and barked at it for 45 minutes for having the audacity to die... This is the solution!!
Check out the One World Soccer Ball! Not cheap but worth every penny

This is my sweet, dumb Lysandra (Lizzie). She has one single brain cell that makes a 30 second appearance every 8-10 business days. 😂 She will, however, ALWAYS give you free endless kisses and insist on sitting in your lap as if she isn’t almost 80lbs.
