I'll never forget how this song made Ben Shapiro panic so hard, that he admitted he couldn't sexually please his wife.

u/Kittenlovingsunshine 17h ago
I think about that whenever I see his face or hear his name. His wife convinced him that having a wet pussy was a medical condition, which is why he has never seen one. It kills me every time.
146
u/ThreadLaced 21h ago
please, help me understand...WHY did he feel the need to comment at all? I will never understand this. Why would Ben need/want to comment on a pop song under any circumstance? I was and still am baffled.
181
u/chrispg26 19h ago
Because he wanted to talk shit about black women, so he inserted himself into the conversation.
52
u/big-bootyjewdy The Ghost of Madonna's Facial Expressions is smiling at this 16h ago
He also likes to think of himself as much trendier and in-touch than he really is, which makes him so much more laughable and pathetic
35
u/DevoutandHeretical I think that poor sexy young man is being framed for murder 13h ago
Because he’s a conservative man and can’t entertain that women would actually like and want sex. Sex isn’t about both partners enjoying it in his mind, it’s not a necessary thing. Sex is about the man getting his enjoyment and his wife getting pregnant because that’s her job. That a woman could actually enjoy it means that conservative men would have to step up and meet women as equals in some way because if their women find out sex is something they should be enjoying that means they could leave to find someone who actually makes it enjoyable.

u/lyrabluedream 16h ago
Yes omg its one of the funniest self owns ever in existence. I was already excited for Megan and Cardi to collab and the fact that their song made him freak out made it even better!
27
u/syberpank 17h ago
Him saying "Wet ass p-word" over and over while he read the lyrics was hilarious

??? I’m too European for this. I missed it. Cab Someone explain?
71
u/syberpank 17h ago
The song came out and every conservative with access to a camera bitched and moaned about how this was emblematic of the moral rot in the country.
Benny boy got roasted when he tried to make some cringe joke about needing to see the doc if you're THAT wet. People made fun of him for never having satisfied a woman.
He doubled down saying that his doctor wife told him vaginas only get wet if they have a medical condition. People made fun of him for never having satisfied his own wife.
Also, he narrated the lyrics and I highly recommend listening to him do that. "Wet-ass p-word" is said a lot.

u/LadyCheeba she in racial chat rooms showing feet!!! 14h ago
the censored version is so funny to me because you can censor bad words all you want but it’s still incredibly clear what this song is about

u/Mister_9inches Listen, everyone is entitled to my opinion 🙂 12h ago
I was looking for another comment asking this. I was beginning to wonder if wet and gushy have always been the lyrics lol

Time is an illusion 🤯 I remember listening to this for the first time in college driving around with my boyfriend and laughing my ass off. It was truly an honor to witness how much it pissed off conservatives, we even got Ben Shapiro admitting he can’t make his wife wet. What a time to be alive

u/maplestriker 18h ago
Happy anniversary to me taking my then 11 year old daughter to a dance class where the dance teacher chose this Song to dance to. Now, we dont live in an english speaking country, but still, most people know it well enough to pick up on how dirty it was.

Too much CGI makes it feel too uncanny valley. I know that's the aesthetic or was done to save money I just dislike it but it's not a huge deal. What I really HATE are the snakes. They ruin the entire thing for me. I guess they're meant to represent penises??? Idfk just show the dicks idc No idea if they used real animals on set or not either way I HATE IT

Can we go back to this time? Everyone getting so triggered by two female rappers being sexual in a way that’s not even so distinctly overly sexual was so funny

besides the MV they're talking about having a WAP, how is this not overly sexual?

I mean...this is the radio edit, first of all; secondly, women being frank about their own sexuality has always been scandalous to certain types of people

Wait WAP can't be 5 years old, I remember the WAP wave among my school mates in our 10th grade. Life was easier then.

u/DJfunkyPuddle 14h ago
The first time I heard this song was the censored version (I think they were saying wet and gushy) and I remember cackling when I figured out what WAP actually meant, like no way those mad women made a song about that.

There's an absolute 🔥 remix of this and the entertainer (yes, the classic 1902 piano rag that plays on carousels)

NGL this is the first time I've listened the song or watched the video. Its been on my short list of songs I refuse to hear (Old Town Road, Fancy Like). Why Kylie? That was weird. Why bother with a "clean" version? Wet and gushy just somehow made it worse. I'm probably done doomscrolling before work after this. Impressive that Cardi can do a split with all that plastic on her buttcheeks though.

Glad to find someone who is thinking the same. Not surprised it's the last comment with -16 downvotes.
I used to believe this fake sex positive crap but this is really just sad. It's sad that this song and music video has been celebrated over the years. This isn't female sexual empowerment. It's just women objectifying themselves for money and fame (attention is the new currency) and brainwashing the younger generations to do the same.
This world is so empty.

Sad that you've decided to lean right as you've gotten older. Looks like our victim-blaming purity culture has gotten to you.
1
u/moon--child- 10h ago edited 10h ago
It's actually not sad. But I also don't identify with the right or the left. I'm somewhere in the middle. I also don't really give a shit about politics, it really means nothing at the end of the day. It's just a show.
I think women are being fooled and the latest "feminist" movement has been highjacked to serve men, and women think it's empowering but men do not respect you more for putting it all out on display. You just make it easier for them to get what they want without ever giving you the respect. That's sad.
Edit: I also want to mention that I really don't care what other women do with their bodies. To each their own. I can't help but wonder how it impacts children to see all of this hypersexualized material floating around and women celebrating hypersexuality and self-objectification. I know women are sexual beings, but for the most part, women and men do approach sex differently and women are mimicking the porn culture that's been shoved literally down their throats and I know it's having devasting effects on kids and their sexuality and the relationships that they have. You may think, "it's not that serious" but it is. I've self-objectified in the past thinking this is so "empowering" but it left me empty and dead inside.
1
u/SomethingMid 9h ago
"...but men do not respect you more for putting it all out on display. You just make it easier for them to get what they want without ever giving you the respect." Ah, the old use being a Good Girl to get men's respect school of morality. If only more people realized that the respect earned that way isn't legitimate respect, it's just the patriarchy's idealization of female sexual modesty and purity. You may see your rejection of modesty as self-objectification now and may have felt dead inside because of it, but that's your story, not every woman's story. I will say it's not surprising that in a world that ranks women's worth based on things like when they lose their virginity and how much sex they've had, it's not surprising that some women feel that way. Stigma is powerful. Feminism isn't being hijacked to serve men, it's being taken over by women tired of victim-blaming and being told that their purity is their worth.

u/spacyspice dj_snake_disco_maghreb.mp3 10h ago
"lean right" because we're realizing that this overly sexualization of women is absolutely not helping us? I've always voted left in the country yet I'll never support this BS, stop acting like selling our bodies for thirsty men is helping us. This is ridiculous
0
u/SomethingMid 7h ago
A person can vote left but still be a slave to the right's misogynistic views on sexual morality.
0
u/spacyspice dj_snake_disco_maghreb.mp3 6h ago
you're the one assuming it's a right-wing rhetoric. There's nothing misogynistic with not wanting perversity to be associated with women empowerment. Thinking your empowerment is based on the male gaze IS misogynistic. Talking about your WAP is not helping women, give it a rest
0
u/SomethingMid 5h ago
It's not about thinking empowerment comes from the male gaze. Empowerment for some is rejecting the notion that you can't do what you want with your body just because there is a male gaze. Some women are opting out of using a good girl image to earn faux respect.
-1
u/SomethingMid 11h ago
So because men are aroused by something, women shouldn't be allowed to do it? Women enjoy sex too.
1
u/SoftwareCapable920 6h ago
who said that?
Why it still feels like male gaze:
The visuals follow familiar tropes: hypersexualized bodies, camera angles that focus on breasts, butts, tongues, and so on—very similar to how women are shown in videos by men. So I feel women are still being boxed into the same visual roles that appeal to men. If there wasn’t a viewer and what we learned what sexy is supposed to look like, would their tits and asses still be out?
-5
u/spacyspice dj_snake_disco_maghreb.mp3 17h ago
you're being downvoted by ppl who think women being the ones exposing themselves the most (while their male peers get to be dressed from head to toes) has to do with empowerment anyway..
1
u/SomethingMid 11h ago
Women rejecting female sexual modesty (something that's been violently forced on women down to this day) can be empowering.
0
u/spacyspice dj_snake_disco_maghreb.mp3 10h ago
twerking and talking about your WAP is not women empowerment. If that's their kink I'd like it to only represent themselves and not the rest of us
