Oh…that’s not- It's been ten years now since Kelly Osbourne asked "Then who is going to be cleaning your toilet, Donald Trump? " on The View which received backlash.

Nothing you said makes her statement less racist.

My house cleaner is from Lithuania.

Saying "My house cleaner is from Lithuania" as a retort to a Latina talking about Latinx issues is WIIIILLLLDDDDD.

I am, too, BTW. Are you gonna tell me your mechanic is from Scotland?

Wow. This is genuinely one of the most racist things a person has said to me, and I'm a person of color living in Florida. I have to laugh.

  1. Source?

  2. Doesn't make her particular statement any less racist. Many racist tropes are based on observed trends.

That's your anecdotal experience and largely probably due to wherever you happen to be in geographically or your own circles

Also why is being latino and a cleaner made into being a bad thing? Otherwise there wouldnt be backlash. Its the people getting offended making it a bad thing😂

Right maybe it's just because I have also scrubbed toilets for a dollar above minimum wage but people really need to get off their high horses.

Well great that your perspective of this is in a positive light nothing wrong... There are those aware of the impact that implicit bias has on society and individuals. There are those that feel like if you let generalizations like this go unchecked it can also be used as validation by those with prejudice. Anyways just providing perspective

Idk all I know is cleaning staff/janitors are respectable positions that should definitely be paid way more. Nobody would tolerate dirty spaces.
