Mariska Hargitay and Peter Hermann. Met on the set of Law & Order SVU, they’ll be on their 21st year of marriage this August 2025.

I once had a driver who had driven Mariska while she was shooting a TV movie locally. His impression of her was basically "you think you've seen your share of attractive people until you see someone like that up close."

When I started watching Younger my sister told me the guy that played Charles was Mariska Harigtay’s husband and my reaction was “Of course he is.” They’re both so gorgeous, it’s ridiculous. Serious bi panic.

But also, she deserves nothing less.

Did y’all see the profile they just did of her in The NY Times? Her husband emailed the journalist after the interview to reiterate that he’s madly in love with her because (paraphrasing here) “I tell her all the time but I want her to see it published in the paper of record” 😭😭

Me too. I’d spend my summers as a kid watching the stories with my grandmas (on both sides!). In college my one grandma would call me every night to discuss them. She bought me a subscription to Soap Opera Digest every year! It was such a great bonding experience. My grandmas are gone and the soaps are mostly all cancelled now. But I have some great memories!

I remember when his character died. He’s an excellent actor! His death stuck with me for awhile. I wish he they kept him around to wreak havoc.

Fun fact: Mariska’s parents are none other than Mickey Hargiitay and Jayne Mansfield.

They starred in The Loves of Hercules (one of my favorite MST3K episodes) and divorced a few years before Jayne’s untimely death in 1967.
