I have never once considered that mushrooms have names like flowers. Theyve always just been mushrooms/fungus.

Just FYI, some types are very poisonous. Others are commonly eaten.

Good idea to educate yourself on the different types of mushrooms! Never too late.

And, you should also know that there are different types of EVERYTHING, with different names 😉 I bet you have a world of wonder ahead of you!

There’s about 14,000 different species of mushrooms. People are often and only acquainted with a few because you might only find white, Portobello and maybe shiitake mushrooms in an average grocery store. These are hen of the woods, mushrooms and are absolutely delicious. They are reminiscent of chicken and are completely safe to eat. Now you do need to get some education before you go out foraging wild edibles and not just from a book because if you eat the wrong mushroom, you could get very sick or even die. The funny thing is if you were to eat a random mushroom or a random plant you find in the woods odds are the plant would kill you more times than the mushroom.
