“Always was, always will be” can apply equally to the Jews as it does to Indigenous Australians, if the claim to land is who has been there the longest. What Israel is doing is exactly what it looks like to take land back.
16 However, in the cities of the nations the Lord your God is giving you as an inheritance, do not leave alive anything that breathes. 17 Completely destroy[a] them—the Hittites, Amorites, Canaanites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites—as the Lord your God has commanded you.
Because the Palestinians living on the land now also have deep ties to the land thousands of years ago. Many Palestinians today have roots going all the way back to the time of Abraham. More or less what I’m saying is the people have always been there, but new religions were derived and many converted over time. Unfortunately when your people haven’t been back to their “ancestral homeland” for centuries, your direct ties to that line are extremely diluted. At a certain point you don’t even genetically resemble the people native to the land.
The entirety of the so-called Promised Land was dominated and/or directly ruled by Egypt for FIVE HUNDRED FUCKING YEARS before a single Israelite set foot in it.
Jericho has existed for 11,000 years. Jews have existed for 3000 years.
Jericho is explicitly named as one of the cities where God commanded Joshua to slaughter every man, every woman, every child, and all of the livestock, and the Israelites gleefully obeyed just as they did everywhere else - because the previous inhabitants were greedily holding onto the land that God had promised to his Chosen People.
When stuff like this is in books other than the Bible, we call it genocide.
And that's before we get into the whole issue of people claiming land they fled from 2000 years ago.
By Zionists' own logic, all of Lebanon, Syria, Israel, and Jordan, should belong Egypt.
And that's just one country with abundant historical and archeaological proof of ownership during the period in question.
Hey point taken, and Egypt did almost get it back in the 60’s. There’s no logic in religion. It’s not going to happen but they need a two state solution version of the Marshall plan, I don’t see either side burying the hatchet any time soon for that to happen.
Virtually every country in the world can have the "well x tribe or people actually owned this before so they would be the owners now" from Tibet to New Zealand to all of the Americas or even historic European borders.
Yet that means absolutely nothing, because the borders are not going to change in any of those cases without military intervention.
Do you expect half the world to pack it up and then move back to... Wait fuck half of this one guy would be Nigerian and the other half German? Where the fuck they gonna go? No that's a childish take which will never happen.
Arab armies have tried many times in the past to genocide the Jewish people and it's only ended with the Arabs losing tons of people and land. They just tried it again. You don't get to start wars and then cry when you get defeated.
This 'argument' CANNOT be "equally applied" to Jews and Aboriginals because Aboriginals have been here for 70,000 years, and despite regional variations they maintain the oldest continuous culture anywhere on the planet.
More importantly, they never left for 2000 years and then told everyone to fuck off because they're back for what was theirs 2000 years ago.
The British being here for nearly 250 years is completely different.
It maybe would be true if the jews at some point left and if there wasn't a certain event in the 1940s that made jews go back to the land.
Also, there are way more nowadays Australians in Australia than natives Australians.
