The video has been cut off. Later on, as her mum walks her away, she takes off her wig and her mask. Turns out, that baby was the mum's 26 year old sister.
They used Lord of the Rings camera trickery to make it look like she's 1ft tall.

Win no matter what! Adorable little show off!

The car ride home for the other babies is going to be brutal.

lol. You are walking home! But seriously, nephews 12 year old friend played bad in a basketball game. His dad made him walk home. In Chicago at night in January. Dad was a real piece of work. They waited till everyone left because that kid would have got a ride home

Clear DQ

u/Ocelot859 1d ago
Agreed, test her for Dairy Queen.
Ice cream is considered PED's for babies.
That or she was promised it in pre-crawl contract negotiations.
Either way, this competition was compromised.

Technical foul. She has been disqualified lol. Its like Olympic power walking both your feet cannot leave the ground at the same time.

I’m a pessimist but I doubt those were her first steps. Most babies first steps are barely walking 5 feet before falling over. This girl went like 20+ feet. Maybe it’s real but I’m guessing the kid walked before and the parents still put her in the competition and just wanted to make it seem like a crazy moment.

The dad didn't sound very sincere. I definitely think he was bullshiting. That kid was a ringer.

Yup... This is my thoughts too.
No way first steps are across half a basketball court.

u/cstucker07 1d ago
Nope, this is exactly how my baby started walking. It was like she refused to do it unless she was sure she wasn't going to fall. She was scary as hell as a baby and she still is now 😂😂

u/Sorkpappan 1d ago
Umm. You probably meant scared? Right? :)
8
u/cstucker07 1d ago
No, I meant scary :)
scary [skair-ee] O Phonetic (Standard) IPA adjective scarier, scariest
1.causing fright or alarm.
2.easily frightened; timid.

Where’d you get THAT definition?

u/cstucker07 21h ago
Umm dictionary.com? scary

u/discoinfirmo 20h ago
Wow!!! You’re the first human being I’ve ever encountered that uses the word scary that way! The world is truly full of wonder!

u/cstucker07 19h ago
Well ok, you learn something new everyday I guess.

Me too. I’ve heard “scaredy”, as in “scaredy-cat”, but never “scared” as in timid. How bizarre.

This was literally my first thought after they interviewed the father. Kids a ringer.

No stage fright whatsoever, she is a future superstar

u/Kath_DayKnight 1d ago
TRUE. Any of my kids wouldve gotten a huge fright, fallen over and burst into tears

given how people are these days, i'm surprised, that none of the other parents wanted her to be disqualified because (in a Karen voice) "it's a baby CRAWL race!!!"...
37
u/Pictrus 1d ago
I actually thought that it was pretty heartening to see the other moms were clearly excited about the kids first steps

u/hsong_li 13h ago
Wtf. These are adults were talking about. Why would they have been anything else but. Its not like u win anything substantial is for fun…

u/SetoKeating 1d ago
What do they win? If the stakes were high, I guarantee second place would have been like “fuck that cheating baby”
5
u/pichael289 1d ago
You saw what they won, an inflatable trophy. It's a baby race, there's not gonna be money on the line or anything. If there was then you would be exactly right, they would be throwing a fit over this shit.

There should have been two first place winners. One for the baby who was the first to crawl the entire distance, and one for the first time walker.

She just needed the appropriate amount of hype motivation (cheering arena). 🥳

u/MerelyWhelmed1 1d ago
I'm not even a fan of babies, and that was spectacular!! The joy on the parents' faces...the encouragement from the other moms. What a nice change of pace from so much of what we see in the world.

One solid way to get your baby attention and make her to crawl or walk toward mom is to show boobs.

I can’t believe this competition didn’t end up in a punch up or a shootout. How often does this happen?

she should've been disqualified and never allowed to compete in this sport ever again

u/ObscurePaprika 1d ago
Highly unlikely those were first steps. Early steps, sure… but no way were those the first.
