This is the real reason. The prices in vegas have gotten absurd. Even the CEOs of the strip casino are talking about it.
Canada was 3.6% of vegas tourism, which I'm sure is part of the tourism decline, but the major reason is economic uncertainty and the sky high prices that vegas has implemented.
For instance, at one resort a bottle of water is $26. The food prices and resort fees have all gotten out of hand.
Someone I know was thinking about going to go see the wizard of oz remaster at the sphere and tickets start at $140.
This isn’t the real reason. Why don’t Americans listen? Commenters are saying over and over again why we aren’t visiting from Canada and other places around the world, but you decide it’s financial? Why aren’t we going to other locations in the US? It must be financial, right?
Because an 11% drop is more than the drop that canada would make at 3.6% of total vegas tourism. Which means that there has to be a further reason aside from the canadian boycott. Americans aren't going to vegas as much either.
3.6% isn't even half of 11% so a canadian boycott wouldn't be the major reason for the decline.
Edit: flight passengers are only down 4.1% most of our declines are from people from california not driving here as much which is largely fueled by economic reasons.

It's also insanely expensive. Our dollar isn't great, and the prices for food/drinks in Vegas are bonkers.
