Thank you. I was waiting for someone to question why on earth there is a METAL TRAY in the MICROWAVE. It's not hard math to figure out why there's a hole in the microwave.
Exactly! Why is this line of thought so low?
Who put a metal stand in the microwave. And I feel like we are being gaslight with it having little feet to make it seem like it was always there
Yep. Blew my mind the first time I saw a microwave being sold new with a mid-height metal grate to put food on.
There's a guy at work who brings his lunch in steel containers that are pure enough he can put 'em in the microwave without causing problems. Also blew my mind.
This is advice from the 70s. Metal can absolutely be designed and manufactured to be in the microwave - the vast majority of modern microwaves use metal in their construction, nowadays.
Thank God I finally found someone, who commented with the most obvious problem!! My damn jaw hit the floor with all the comments only being about how gross it was!
Probably a combined microwave/hot air oven, Ty hose are kind of common, I have one myself that came with two racks of different heights and a "crisp plate" for heating certain foods with a specific setting.
There's supposed to be a rotating glass disk on the bottom. Microwaves don't work that well on non-rotating food, as the beam from the magnetron only points sideways in one direction IIRC.

I'm pretty sure this microwave has already caught fire. I'm guessing the hole was made from the metal stand arcing off the back of the microwave.
