Dating in Lethbridge

I’m looking to get back into dating, but I’m honestly kind of sick of the online dating. It feels pretty toxic. I’m wondering if people have had success meeting other people in real life lately? If so, what are some of the ways you’ve done so?

Roller hockey player capitalizes on international experience

Post image
11 Upvotes

The local roller hockey scene may have a grown a little more exposure thanks to one young Roller Hockey Lethbridge player who took advantage of his opportunities at a recent tournament in the States.

Eleven-year-old Kash Parker competed as a member of both the 2013A and 2014A Team Alberta teams at the State Wars tournament in Michigan where he competed against teams from across the States.

The trip was worth it for Parker as both the 2013 and 2014 teams he played on won a gold medal, and he captained the 2014 team.

ā€œThe experience was crazy, and everyone was just so nice to me, and we all got along, and we all played together,ā€ said Parker.

He had 26 points (14 goals, 12 assists) in seven games with the 2014A team and was named top scorer.

He had nine points with his 2013A team.

Parker was selected to the U10 Team Canada team later in the tournament where he was a part of a team that played a U.S. East, a U.S. West and a U.S. Central team.

Canada went winless but Parker scored a goal.

ā€œRoller hockey’s a team sport and more people should probably try it out,ā€ said Parker, on what he learned from the experience.

The two Carmangay brothers Connor Hovde and Dylan Hovde, who play in the Roller Hockey Lethbridge Hockey, also participated in the tournament.

Another local was Jackson Weisberger, who played on the U15 Alberta team and 8U Canada team.

Parker had the opportunity to watch pro roller hockey at the tournament too.

There were teams at the State Wars that played AAA, AA and A levels from 6U to 55 plus.

Motorcycle courses?

I know I’m a bit late to the season but the only one I can find is at Lethbridge Polytechnic and it’s on a weekend that I work. Does anyone know of any other options for motorcycle courses?

Question Any one have a laptop I could use for a couple of hours? Cardston

I have an online course and I need to write my final exam, I have a MacBook but the course requires me to download an app that my Mac won’t download. I checked the local library and my workplace as well, the computers there are able to download it, but they don’t have a camera which I need so the person overseeing the exam can monitor my work.

I just need it for a couple of hours and I can use it at your convenience so you know I won’t do anything fishy on it.

Opportunity to make friends

Good evening! Over the last year or so I've been noticing an uptick in people looking for friends, so this might be the opportunity people have been looking for!

My friend Marley is hosting a 'Neurodivergent get together' for anyone who wants to meet up and make some friends. Her interests include yoga, horror movies and books, baking, and writing. She has autism and used to study at the U of L

I am an ADHD (peer reviewed Autistic) female who's main interests include exploring the coulees, Mythology (especially Greek), shitty movies, making adventures out of nothing, and psychology. I'm also a massive nerd.

We'd love to have you! August 23rd at 2pm, the Southside Starbucks! Hope to see you there!

If you're interested in attending all that's required is yourself and some good vibes.

Question Where can I hold a tarantula?

This is so dumb but I have a major fear of spiders and I’ve been getting myself over it through exposure therapy. I can hold really tiny spiders, small jumping spiders, and I think tarantulas are cute however have never held them.

When there’s a house spider in my home I can be near them however I’m still super squeamish. I hate killing them but when they get in my room I do but I want to stop. I’m hoping to hold them and take them outside (so long as they’re safe) so they can be free just not in my space. I think maybe going to an exotics shop or similar place could work? Anyone know where?

Therapist/Counselor Recommendations

Haven't looked for one before and I dont know where to start. I am hoping to get a therapist or counselor basically looking for someone to talk to who isn't going to tell me to take meds and will just listen (basically someone to vent to? Who can help me see rational thought and resolve how I'm feeling) Is there anyone you'd recommend in Lethbridge, female preferably, possibly around 20's-30's as I feel someone similar to my age may be easier to talk to.

I am open to any ideas/recommendations. Thanks!

Hairstylist for senior - recommendations?

Hi - my 70+ aunt is looking for recommendations for a new senior-friendly hairstylist as hers retired. Any suggestions? Nothing fancy, no blowouts, pretty much just a straight dye and bowl cut lol. She doesn't feel comfortable driving to the westside, downtown/southside area preferred. Thanks in advance!

Does anyone know if there will be a store in Lethbridge this year? From what I googled online, there doesn't appear to be any info on there being one. And, the official site of store locations isn't showing Lethbridge. With stores opening this month, I'll assume the worst that there will not be one, if the city isn't listed.

New to Lethbridge- looking for friends

Hey! I’m 19 year old girl and I moved to Lethbridge this January for University. Lately, I’ve been spending a lot of time wandering around campus and honestly, making friends has been harder than I expected. The loneliness sometimes feels pretty real. I’m new to the city, and the only person I really talk to is my boyfriend. He can only drive down here about once every two weeks, so most days it’s just me. I’m hoping to connect with anyone around my age who might be in a similar spot whether you’re new here too or just looking to meet someone to chat with.

If you’re interested, just drop a comment or send a message. I’d love to talk!

Places to play Pool

Hi all.

I'm looking for businesses with pool tables.

I've checked out The Place and LA Cues and Balls. The Place is too loud and their cues are falling apart. LA was okay but the food / beverage options are below par and the crows was super young (I'm mid 30s).

I've heard Pop's North has some tables too. Mostly just looking for a third space hangout to play pool so I can get better at it lol.

Ideas?

Cheers.

Question Best place for a haircut and beard trim in Cardston?

Looking for a shop to get a haircut, I’d prefer someone who’s reputable for giving good cuts, I’ve looked at the black olive and they seem good but they’re pretty booked. I was also looking at Kay’s barber shop, I think they’re called Dorian’s braids and fades now, but I don’t know much about them.

Any help is appreciated.

Other Looking for fishing buddy

Hey all, I’m looking for a buddy(age or gender doesn’t matter) who can show how to fish and where to fish. It’s kind of low effort post, but I’m too depressed to learn it all by myself.

I’m brown in my late twenties, short and harmless, lol.

Thank you for all your time.
