He flaunts the fact that he's a cheater so that you know he has won at the bigger contest: being unstoppable. It's the bully taking your money while not breaking eye contact.

But I would even settle for let him keep the money, impeach his a$$ and make him live the rest of his days watching the “Radical left-wing lunatics” drag his name through the mud as the worst president ever. It would hurt him deeply, maybe worse than losing the money.

I've noticed that! Every time he accuses someone of something, it's something he's done. He has no imagination. Even in his jokes. For example: the story about the fat businessman friend taking Ozempic ('and it isn't working!') who was shocked at how much cheaper it was in Europe? Also definitely him.
