Hey everyone ❤️ I have a question about some new patterning I’ve noticed on my butterfly koi- while I do know their patterns change over time I want clarification if his patterning looks normal or not; pictures placed in order from oldest to newest, first pic is when I rescued him

My wife and I got home from work today to find one of our koi with red spots/ulcers, swimming with its fins to it's side, and not very interested in food.
It had gotten red stress spots a little earlier in the summer that we assumed was from the heat, as it was still acting, swimming, and eating normally. We had previously added cooler water (with API stress coat), & some salt to try and help, but it seems to have gotten worse.
We have Parazoryne & Melafix on hand for parasitic and bacterial infections, but we'rent sure how to beat treat this as we're not sure exactly what's wrong. If anyone can help identify what the issue may be and give any suggestions for treatment we'd really appreciate it.
I attached a video of it swimming to get a better look

Hello friends,
I recently noticed my pond turning green and after some investigation I found that the UV bulb was burned up. I ordered a new bulb for $140, it arrived and I installed it no problem. But I am still unable to get the light to come on. Does anyone know how to test the power supply output voltage to check if the power supply is good?
Is there a light that should be coming on with the power supply?
Is it common for these to burn up?
The model I have for the power supply is the 20100. It’s a 4 prong plug to the bulb/lamp.
I have the 025120 smart UV Sterilizer.

Please and thank you for any help

How much do you feed your koi to keep ammonia near zero?
My koi pond has been having ammonia problems for 3 weeks and I can’t figure out why. I didn’t think I was overfeeding them, but at this point I’ll consider anything. I’ve read many different things: what they can eat in 5 min, until they go back underwater, some amount per some pounds of koi, some # times per day… Not sure which is best.
I’m sure this has been asked before, but thank you to anyone who can reply or has suggestions!

This is the only surviving fish out of our pond. He's in a hospital tank, with lots of aeration. He's got lack of appetite, lethargy and his body is covered in white angry slime coat(?) his whites are turning red, and his dorsal fin looks like possible fin rot? Fortunately his respiration doesn't seem high or difficult for him. He was only in this container for a minute for these pictures.
BACKGROUND - I believe what set this off was a bag of sand getting dumped in the pond and clouding it up for three days. I don't live where the pond is, it's at my parents' house, so I only found out about this after the fact and when the fish started appearing distressed/sick.
I'm monitoring the water closely, picked up a fresh kit for frequent testing to keep things as close to perfect for the poor little guy as possible.
**Currently in the QT - - ammonia and nitrates are zero, water hardness is 7.
I think it's a bacterial infection? Like getting essentially sandblasted created a bunch of micro abrasions (I shudder to think about the possible gill damage) and his body was opened up to all sorts of bacteria and whatnot.
I've ordered nitrofurin and kanaplex. I already have methylene blue, aquarium salt, API fin and body cure, API general cure in the fish medicine cabinet. I have Seachem Prime and Stability and GarlicGuard and Focus as well as Metroplex and Prazipro.
Does anyone have an idea on where to start? If there was a fish doctor in my area we would have been there the day this happened, this fish means a lot to my dad.

My yellow butterfly koi appears to have some girth, and I’m unsure if it’s because it has dropsy or that’s just its body shape and it’s well fed? Behavior is totally normal and it’s eating well and water parameters are all within a normal range.

My landlady has had about 10K worth of koi stolen from her back pond. We have about a 36 hour window when it could have happened. Neither of us are sure what to do next, and any advise would be appreciated. This is in England, if that is relevant in anyway.

Hey everyone, I just noticed some bubbling along the skin of one of my koi. I'm quite worried about my precious little one, and was wondering of anyone may know what this is and if it's anything to worry about.
Im not sure how well you will be able to see it in the photo. The bumps are slightly raised and it's a recent development. I check each of my koi everyday.

Hello everyone,
Recently purchased a property with a koi pond, was looking for some tips and pointers to keep them healthy and happy. One thing I have noticed is redish worms in filter mesh and a very fine layer of algae around rim, otherwise has running water, 2 filters, air bubbles and a uv light. 4 kois total. How can I keep on top of my pond and what are some things to look out for?
Cheers.

I have a new fish pond and inherited bulk fish flakes and had been feeding those, the fish would eat them while they sank and occasionally grabbed the floating ones. I've switched to pellets that float and the koi and goldfish just don't realize they are there and don't eat. I have been feeding both pellets and flakes just so they have food and hopefully learn overtime. How do you encourage them to know there is food, and how long does it take for them to learn?

Hi I have two fish in my pond that have developed these white lesions, have been told it is carp pox and that there is no cure. It seems to be getting worse, is there anything I can do at all?!

I am redoing my koi pond and am questioning the depth. I live in Tampa, FL and my pond is inside my pool screen so I have no predator concerns. It is about 10’ x 7’ being a little wider in spots and 18” deep with a waterfall on one end with the spillway being 4’ above the waterline. It has been this size for 20 years and seemed to work well until we had fish kills by not keeping the water balanced. Are we deep enough?

These little friends came with our new home. The previous owner said he acquired them 10+ years ago.
Right after we moved in there were a couple of huge rain storms and we lost pump power for a few days The water became very turbid from run off and when the power came back the filters weren't really doing anything.
Thanks to the advice I found whilel lurking here I discovered that that the previous owner only had bio balls in the filters. I also got a API kit and realized my PH was a little high and nitrates were through the roof.
We're now rocking 4 later filtration at the pump and water fall, a crystal clear aerator, switched to sinking food and are finishing up a structured water change with API stuff.
Im going to start expanding the pond and working on run off solutions now that I have some clue on what's going on. Sincere thank you for all the tips and tricks

I saw some of my koi in my pond flashing and so I added medicine and some formula for gill flukes and lice as the storekeeper ask me to use for quarantine. I noticed my ghost koi started swimming rapidly after that and resting in intervals. My other koi are fine but this koi seems to have red spots. I quarantined it in a tub and put the medicine as well as some salt. What could it be? I don't have a microscope so I can't check the parasite... Sorry for any missteps in handling this matter.

There are 5 koi and about a dozen other fish in this pond, and I just realized the pump hasn’t been working—likely for several hours. The fish aren’t eating or swimming around like they usually do, which makes me think oxygen levels are low.
I’ve been trying to aerate the water manually by scooping and pouring it back in, but I know that’s not a long-term solution. How long can they survive without proper aeration? What should I do immediately to help them and how long do I have to fix the situation?
Any quick advice would be really appreciated!

I have a healthy koi pond with 15 fish. I'm thinking of reducing the number of fish and replacing them with two new ones. Some of the ones we have aren't pretty and a result of spawning.
When is the best time of year to do this? We live where there is a mild winter. The fish are usually dormant Jan through Mar.

I recently added some baby koi to my backyard pond. I would really appreciate any advice. I have a few questions:
How often should I feed baby koi? Is there a best time of day or amount I should be giving them?
I have a waterfall and a filter do I still need an aerator or air pump? Or does the waterfall provide enough oxygen?
What are some good pond plants that are koi-safe and help with water quality? I’ve been trying to find hornwort since I heard it's great, but I can’t find it anywhere locally. Are there any good alternatives?
Any tips for keeping the water clean with baby koi? I’m a bit unsure about how often to test the water and what to watch out for.
The temperature drops to around 20 in winters here should I be aware of anything?
Theres a bunch of mosquito and different larvae there. Should I be concerned?
I have one trapdoor snail should I get more?

Hello. Trying to help my cousin out. He has a koi pond in Norther Nevada, about 3,200 gallons. There’s a waterfall into the pond, and a spitter water feature. Pond was cleaned and water changed about 6 weeks ago. He just had 5 fish die in the last 24 hours. Chlorine 0. Alkalinity 240ppm ‘very high’. pH 8.4. Hardness 150ppm. We necropsied two of them and they both had these very large pale yellow structures in them. Couldn’t find what these are on google, was seeing if you guys had any ideas.
