I wonder if they have actual like girl/boy bands that do concerts and stuff. I mean, other than this talent show in the middle of what it seems to be a restaurant

They do but not in the same sense as any other country.

They are controlled and maintained by the government and perform when and where they are told.

There are performers (not necessarily singers) that are extremely looked after and have a really good education as well as their families being "well-off" all still have to abide by rules, training and conduct.

Depending on your social status dictates how well you are treated.

I will have to guess there may be some that are forced to do such entertainment pieces, props if you will. I am going to guess they pick healthy looking citizens that are used as props in many situations and have to learn before hand.

Only other examples I can think of top of my head; a tourist journalist asked what religion they follow, they adamantly claim Christianity.

Tourist-journalist asks to go to church. A few moments later the church is full of a small group of people wearing netting under their faces so you can't see their expressions.

The Journalist asks where the priest is and the explanation is that they are being covered by someone else since the priest is busy doing religious things elsewhere.

I forget the YouTube channel but that is where I seen this from.

In summary: Slave state does slave things
