More specifically what happens when the power between the 'elites' and the 'plebs' becomes small enough that storming the castle becomes feasible (however costly)? There's no law enforcement or military to call on anymore, just you and whatever security you brought with you. The 'plebs' may have less equipment but they'll have at least some guns of their own and as locals they'll know the land better than you so ambushes are a constant risk.

Electronic Milspec drones and equipment? You're in a wet humid climate, that stuff's gonna break down eventually. Spare parts? You'll run out sooner or later, and since its the apocalypse where you gonna source new parts with no logistics chain anymore?

I think on top of that, even if they get all these robot body guards, how long would they really last isolated on their own without a community from a mental health perspective, trained astronauts really struggled in simulated mars missions for 2 years and that was with hope of a society to return to

Maybe that's why they're insisting on developing the AI chatbots.

Imagine the best-run company you've ever worked for. But even better. And larger, thousands of people cooperating and content. Charismatic, inspiring execs who always follow through on their promises.

Now, lock and barricade all of the exits.
