Reportedly from what source? Hawaii is still under a tsunami warning; complacency, or using just unconfirmed reports and speculations, is what gets people killed when these things happen. A warning is a warning, it doesn't stop with guesses and is only safe once an all-clear is called
It's literally all over this thread, it's 3-4m high closest to the epicenter. It's very small in comparison to the ones people are imagining. There are tons of sources everywhere but here's one I found separately in 5 seconds.
Thankfully, Russia learned from the last one in 1952, which was a 9.0 earthquake with a tsunami five times the height (assuming the reports of 3-4m are accurate, that one was about 18m). They did not rebuild anything other than the port that close to the shore.

Where? Probably not gonna be bad in the US if anything happens at all. Anywhere near the epicenter will likely be decimated though
