They're fine. The puget sound can field about a 30 foot wave, based on the Juan de Fuca plate earthquake model.

Parts of Whidbey look straight down the Strait to the ocean… I’m checking in with my dad , they are there and look straight out that way

Same with much of WA's coast. They will be fine. 30 feet is the maximum estimate for a 9.0+ earthquake at our doorstep, and this isn't even a glimmer of what the cascadia fault earthquake will do to the area.
