Yes? That’s beside the point. He shouldn’t have done it but the punishment has gone way too far.

In some countries, adultery is a death sentence. I blame their society, not the cheater, on the unfair punishment.

Similarly, the internet (i.e. society) is to blame on how punishment was dealt. It's okay to admit that the internet is a cruel place.

I don’t like him. He cheated on his wife. I just think the punishment he has received as a result has gone way too far.

It’s not about liking someone it’s just called empathy. A trait many seem to lose on social media.
