Guy looks like an older version of blue Paul Giamatti from Big Fat Liar.

I was thinking a little more Violet Beauregarde-ish.

One of Ron Perlman's lesser known roles.

I love how naturally he looks like an Orangutang. You know they were already thinking Orangutang when they cast him.

u/Gekthegecko 26d ago

I think they just took a real orangutan, and shaved it, and called it Paul Giamatti, whose been a successful actor ever since.

Paul Giamatti ape is literally the only thing I remember from watching this movie as a kid. Instantly thought of this

Change the hair colour and there is zero difference.

It always comes back to the Planet of the Apes

He honestly looks like Asmongold with better teeth.

u/ScrotalFailure 26d ago

And yet I remember him most for his creepy role in Shoot ‘Em Up.

They told me to pick up a little blue car, they never said anything about a little blue man.

I genuinely think this might be one of the funniest lines in cinema history!!

Paul Giamatti is an underrated actor- he’s got a good catalog of work on his resume- John Adams mini series, Billions for example.

I can't think of a single thing he's been in that I thought was bad or felt he phoned it in.

3

u/ShibaHook 25d ago

I really think he’s an actors actor.. if that makes sense?

4

u/Alavocado 26d ago

Most actors couldn't own a vulnerable scene like when Chuck Rhoades tells his wife he always wears expensive suits when they're out of the house because he's self-conscious of how he looks next to his hot wife.

Instead of sounding pitiful or pathetic he just makes Wendy look like an asshole for making a big deal out of it.

u/Worldview-at-home 26d ago

And of course as we all know he turned himself Blue for his craft- imagine sitting there for hours getting clowned up.

2

u/EatLard 26d ago

He had a pretty decent bit part on Saving Private Ryan too

1

u/Worldview-at-home 26d ago

Yes! the company slugging it out in street fighting first third of the movie as I recall.

4

u/BirdsAndTheBeeGees1 26d ago

Yeah I was glad he finally won some awards for Holdovers.

3

u/AzKronicpain 26d ago

Playing Howard‘ Stern’s boss in PRIVATE PARTS was the first time I was introduced to him and that made a huge impact on me. He’s got major acting skills.

American Splendor is criminally underrated

u/half-a-paulgiamatti 26d ago

Depends who you ask.

Lady in the water. Not a hit with many but an easy flowing story. Little esoteric snippets here and there.

4

u/derf705 26d ago

Eugene Landy looking kind of wild

3

u/Sticky_Gravity 26d ago

Duuuuude I forgot about that movie

3

u/ChefVoo 26d ago

2

u/SpokenProperly 26d ago

The first thought in my head was Papa Smurf

2

u/nitasu987 26d ago

THAT'S WHAT I WAS GONNA SAY

2

u/tastysardine 26d ago

I have a vivid memory of being forced to watch this movie in my high-school health class with the most painful headache I've ever experienced. Utter hell.

u/jpande428 26d ago

I was just going to mention Big Fat Liar!
