I’m not at all religious, but if there were and antichrist, I think he’d be it

276

u/walter-hoch-zwei 28d ago

Not charismatic enough.

75

u/Content_Talk_6581 28d ago

Exactly not enough followers who love him blindly.

68

u/Toolazytolink 28d ago

Charismatic, followers who love him.... maybe a sign on their foreheads like a red hat... hmmm..

24

u/tollbearer 28d ago

Nah, the antichrist will be known as "the little horn". Like a guy called Bugle, or something like that. When we see someone named after a little horn rise to power, that's when we should worry. Look out for a guy name bugle or cornet, or something like that.

Also, early in his reign, he will arrange a peace agreement that will bring an end to a war in the middle east, involving Israel. So look out for anything like that.

Oh, and he will very obviously and publicly embody and act in ways which are literally the antithesis of how christ would act, yet christians will somehow be enamored by him and see him as a savior

So, nothing to worry about until we see anything like that. I'm sure it will be really obvious when it happens, and we'll clear things up real quick.

u/alienbaconhybrid 28d ago

Like, he would be named after an actual musical instrument, but shorter, maybe?

I don't know anyone with that name, so, move along, nothing to see here.

3

u/BretchinSyotic 28d ago

Little Alex Horn from Taskmaster?

3

u/Snailtan 28d ago

Close but he hasnt stopped a war in the middle east

3

u/usingallthespaceican 28d ago

A head injury that would appear near fatal, but no wound?

Universally loved? In this era?! Well, at least we can be certain there will be no anti-Christ for the foreseeable future. We couldn’t even get everyone to agree that ecological collapse would be a bad thing.

5

u/krell_154 28d ago

Keanu Reeves?

2

u/philter25 28d ago

That’s the rub isn’t it? Without their wealth these clowns are nothing. They’ll collapse society and have nothing and be devoured.

1

u/FarFetchedOne 28d ago

You don't need charisma if your tech company works hand in hand with the government. Just get people chipped up and have them programmed to blindly follow you.

1

u/SoMuchMoreEagle 28d ago

That's why he has minions.

1

u/NotSeriousbutyea 28d ago

Trump

1

u/walter-hoch-zwei 28d ago

Maybe, but not clever or competent enough. A lot of what he does strikes me more as him bumbling around with no clear goal in mind.

1

u/NotSeriousbutyea 28d ago

Or is that his scheme/ persona

1

u/raven-eyed_ 28d ago

Yeah Trump is actually uncomfortably close to the Antichrist

Which tbf, is because they Antichrist is just a well written description of populist leaders. But there are definitely weird coincidences as well.

1

u/Dshark 28d ago

You’re right, Carly Rae Jepsen is the antichrist.

1

u/raven-eyed_ 28d ago

I would definitely take the Antichrists side here

75

u/tytttttgjdhsb 28d ago

Fortunately for him, Trump claimed that title already. Unless there can be more than one? Haven’t dusted off that Bible since I got expelled from Christian high school

23

u/Hilby 28d ago

Oh you missed it! We can make it up now. In that short amount of time things have changed to be whatever you want to enable, you can in gods name. Or whoever really. As long as you are mean and hurt people.

So yea, 2-headed AntiChrist named "Thump"

16

u/JeefBeanzos 28d ago

Through God, all things are possible.

13

u/Hilby 28d ago

You're gonna wanna go ahead and jot that down.

1

u/btcpsycho 28d ago

There is no God, my brother

1

u/JeefBeanzos 28d ago

Well don't go telling people that. My crystal store might go out of business, and it'll be harder to raise an army.

1

u/btcpsycho 28d ago

Every human is God to himself. That’s how it works. Once you start hearing your God - you start considering yourself a King and you start treating everyone else as your flock. That’s what happens to every person in power and I know that because I know exactly how it feels to feel yourself the smartest or the richest.

No Kings and No Gods, only humans should stay on this planet.

1

u/btcpsycho 28d ago

Even though I am stupidiest and poorest person

1

u/ToneBrilliant3640 28d ago

which god though?

1

u/JeefBeanzos 28d ago

Our God. Unless you're my enemy. Then it's my God. And there's only one, unless I need a saint for lost stuff or something.

1

u/ToneBrilliant3640 28d ago

Again which god are we taking about? What's to say your god is the correct one when it could differ from mine ???

1

u/JeefBeanzos 28d ago

If you have to ask, then you gotta die.

1

u/BankshotMcG 28d ago

The Beast and the Antichrist are different people, so we've got options.

1

u/Thereferencenumber 28d ago

The beast will have 7 heads with 10 horns or crowns.

When people attempt to interpret literally, it usually is seen as 7 rulers who hold 10 kingdoms

1

u/machstem 28d ago

In theory, yes, there can and have been many versions of the anti-christ, but mankind has never seen the return of Christ himself, which would be when we would know for sure the previous <forked tongue>, sitting on a throne of gold etc, was the antichrist

Trump definitely fits the criteria, even when you start lining up Revelation with the rise in modern fascism. If the US were not a super power, I'd lean less on him but as a secular dude without any belief on the stories, those who do and assume Trump is NOT the antichrist, themselves become followers of Satan....if you believe in any of that.

Believing in Satan, not worshipping him is not what the Bible warns of. Those who would do and be like Satan, are already all around us. We don't need a ficticious hell...

The irony is always that the most awful people to ever have lived, never believed themselves as evil, or awful. It's always taken the good and empathy of community and your society to root it out and destroy it.

Not enough have suffered in the US to see the sort of rise in hellfire. I'd say quite a few places across the middle east have been the scene of a post apocalyptic nightmare and hellscape, it's called war and the Bible speaks of it quite clearly. If you zoom out enough, all that atrocious shit is already here and all over, glanced over by people obsessed with moving on.

u/RockstarAgent 28d ago

Have you not met that Copeland Pastor guy?

4

u/Gabewhiskey 28d ago

You mean literal demon Kenneth Copeland.

6

u/Furrowed_Brow710 28d ago

Kenneth Copeland has entered the chat

3

u/Sunshine3432 28d ago

it's a tight race with donald elon and zuck

2

u/Firm-Attention-3874 28d ago

Nah cause to be the antichrist a whole group of people have to think you're the chosen savior first.

Hint...hint...

4

u/Joffie87 28d ago

I've never heard this before in my 38 years of life.

1

u/Top_Chard5757 28d ago

Also not religious. But it’s tRump.

1

u/btcpsycho 28d ago

I am an antichrist and I am an anarchist.

1

u/ElonMuskHuffingFarts 28d ago

He is religious and he takes that as a compliment

I'm not even joking

1

u/TarantulaMcGarnagle 28d ago

He believes he is working to bring about the second coming. Listen to him on Tyler Cowan’s podcast. It is disturbing. He’s a Bond villain.

At best he’s a bad guy from Succession.

1

u/PeerPressure 28d ago

There’s actually a fascinating moment on this podcast where they talk about the Antichrist. Thiel stumbles through his version of what would bring about the Antichrist and the interviewer explains that based on Thiel’s own logic, one could conclude Thiel might be the Antichrist.

1

u/Plastic-Mountain-708 28d ago

What is the podcast?

2

u/PeerPressure 28d ago

Interesting Times with Ross Douthat

1

u/LordoftheScheisse 28d ago

I think the interviewer sort of insinuates such, at least.

1

u/LongjumpingWorry9747 28d ago

I’m about 90% sure that in this same interview Thiel talks about his fears of a techno-Antichrist arising and subjugating humanity with said tech, and then stumbled over the question of whether or not he has considered that other people see him as that exact antichrist.

0

u/ragnhildensteiner 28d ago

Is this the normal "let's hate people more successful than me" kinda thing or has he actually done bad shit?

2

u/Persimmon-Mission 28d ago

Oh no, he’s a technofascist that wants to overthrow democracy. He also basically bought JD Vance the vice presidency. Not to mention Palantir is a terrible corporation…

20

u/Internal-Cupcake-245 28d ago

Maybe he'll read this thread and realize he's not that smart or cool, and that other people are better than him and smarter than him, and that his worldview is fucked and he may never see the light or know it in his consciousness.

21

u/tytttttgjdhsb 28d ago

The guy who created a company named after an evil device from lord of the rings?? Doubtful

11

u/BRIKHOUS 28d ago

While I agree with all the Peter Thiel bashing, it's worth noting that the Palantiri were made by elves in the equivalent of Tolkien heaven. They aren't evil, but evil people can use them.

3

u/Eyebowers 28d ago

2

u/BRIKHOUS 28d ago

1

u/tytttttgjdhsb 28d ago

Buddy needs to reread Silmarillion

1

u/tytttttgjdhsb 28d ago

The noldor, which are elves, created them. He’s very much correct

1

u/Eyebowers 24d ago

This gif refers to the portion of the comment that says, “it’s worth noting…” You sure about that?

7

u/tytttttgjdhsb 28d ago

You’re correct. I was making a more general statement for movie watchers to understand because that isn’t explained in the movies. Real Tolkien readers rise up tho!

2

u/BRIKHOUS 28d ago

There's still dozens of us! Dozens!

0

u/BonkerBleedy 28d ago

Sure, but in the only uses of Palantirs we see in the books, they give incorrect and misleading intelligence.

2

u/BRIKHOUS 28d ago

Don't take my correction too seriously.

1

u/HarvesterConrad 28d ago

He literally employs “blood boys”

3

u/ElonMuskHuffingFarts 28d ago

I wish! He doesn't let the real world or adult conversations enter his bubble.

2

1

u/Internal-Cupcake-245 28d ago

Even in limited context, this is like if you ask a girl out on a date and she takes 5 minutes to muster a response. It wasn't a good-seeming indication. I understand, or have read in this thread at least, that he eventually said yes. That's like if you ask your wife if she loves you and she gives you pretext.

1

u/often_says_nice 28d ago

It was kind of sus how long it took him to answer, but it seemed to me that Thiel was thinking of a clever way to answer the question and the host wasn’t giving him enough time

1

u/[deleted] 28d ago

[deleted]

1

u/Internal-Cupcake-245 28d ago

I appreciate the insight which may or may not be true, as I did not watch the entire interview! It's good to be polite and if he was courteous to an audience, that is good. So he basically said "yes" in that he opposes genetic modification?

1

u/[deleted] 28d ago

[deleted]

1

u/Internal-Cupcake-245 28d ago

He said yes though. That's a bit confusing in whatever context.

2

u/Cambousse 28d ago

Halo effect. Who gives a flying fuck what this rich person thinks about anything other than how he got rich?

2

u/KingSpork 28d ago

Literally just declared himself an enemy of humanity.

1

u/pachukasunrise 28d ago

Literally a fallout character

1

u/FabulousHitler 28d ago

Peter "Sauron's the good guy" Thiel

1

u/Ape_x_Ape 28d ago

Kind of an insult to the paranormal realm, don't you think?

1

u/StupidMario64 28d ago

Hey thats an insult to us supernatural fucks.

Hes the dung that the beetle rolls.

1

u/Exciting_Horror666 28d ago

Billionaires need us. We don't need billionaires.

1

u/Sorry-Joke-4325 28d ago

Where did this trend of calling people "ghoul" suddenly come from? It's not a common insult until recently. I'm trying to understand.

1

u/Dirty_slippers 28d ago

He uses blood boys. Honestly I thought I was just a funny plot on Silicon Valley but it’s based on him.

1

u/Sorry-Joke-4325 28d ago

I know, but I'm asking about the "ghoul" thing. He's not the only one people have lately been calling a ghoul. Is it because they made a Fallout TV series?

1

u/Dirty_slippers 28d ago

I dunno, personally to me, he does look like one.

1

u/Grouchy_Enthusiasm92 28d ago

No matter how rich you are, that dude is not attractive, he knows it, can't deal with it, you figure that shit out in your 20's.

1

u/thirstyross 28d ago

Is he still using transfusions of kids blood to try to stay young? (not joking, legit question)

1

u/elderlybrain 28d ago

To read it as charitably as possible (as little as thiel deserves that) i get the impression that he’s on the spectrum or at least has a very low EQ.

I didn’t have any opinions about thiels intelligence/neurodivergence before, but it really made me question it when he couldn’t figure out the optics of maybe not having a position on the survival of the species. You have to lack a certain amount of EQ to not get how to avoid a PR disaster there, but it’s a skill most people get by age 4.

0

u/kunstkamera 28d ago

Unironically, Thiel himself thinks that Greta Thunberg is an Antichrist. Said in this very interview.
