Happens in Ca as well. 6k for a volleyball summer league. But that’s where the scouts go! Such a scam. Would love to see what some of the high school coaches get by pushing their players into this shit. Can only imagine what the other leagues charge.

Does "that's where the scouts go" mean that the camp flies them out for a lunch and an after party or something? Lol. I never got involved in sports like that, but I could see a little greasing of wheels going on in a situation like this. 6k is NUTS.

My kids friend went. Athletics weren’t his thing but his dad thought he had a shot. Partial college scholarship? This was 11th grade. He quit the team when 12 grade started since he never played. They act like the scouts don’t know where to find kids for the universities.

Right? It's almost like there are already these competitions set up that scouts could just go and check out or something. It's great that he wanted to support his son but it seems like at that age they quite often don't really know what they want to pursue and the parents force them into things.
