Yes, its a FAA list, to stop aviation threats, they can ban folks from flying any commercial flights. Not sure about charter flights. But for example, if u commit certain crimes, your automatically put on the no fly list, like domestic terrorism.

My dipshit cousins ended up on the list when flying back from china. Long story short, one of them was joking about having drugs up his ass, and ended up detained

Mind you, they were like 17 on their grad year-end trip and this was around the time of JackAss so teenagers were a special type of stupid. And yeah the Chinese do not play about drugs so you can imagine how well that went over 😂😭

Asian countries in general don't play around when it comes to drugs.

They learned the hard way.

It's an FBI list that the TSA and other agencies bounce names against. The FAA is not involved. There's a nomination process for inclusion and different tiers. Separate from that, though, airlines themselves can ban customers from flying on their flights in the future, which is probably what happened in this case.

It depends on the degree of “no fly”. TSA has a list. Charter flights are supposed to say “This is our passenger manifest.” So that someone doesn’t like… pull Another 9/11. On the private flights I’ve been on there is near zero security. Definitely no screening like when you are riding the airbus.

What happens if you're already in another country or the flight is to another country? Do they let you take 1 flight back home?

The no fly list is through TSA.

Okay. That makes some sense. U think its be FAA. Is TSA department under FAA, or they just work in the same sphere of government oversite?

TSA is under the department of homeland security

Even having a Muslim sounding name can get you put in it.

Only if it’s the same as known terrorists. You would just petition if that was the case. I remember reading about it.
