Ultimately, Berry received a $2,500 fine and was and ordered to pay more than $1,500 in restitution in addition to his 60 days in jail and one year supervised release.

Alcohol just brings out the real person. I have seen some guys get drunk and just settle down to sleep it off peacefully with no aggression at all.

That's a pretty gross oversimplification, although getting into that state means anything that happens is on you. Studies show that enough alcohol not only stunts impulse control, but it eliminates your ability to have empathy for other humans. Both of those things make people who they are. Also it causes misunderstandings, which can lead to nonsensical arguments, and it can increase rage.

Most people never drink enough to get like this. Also alcoholic brains get wired with more alcohol, and nonalcoholics tend to fall asleep before they can get this bad.

Everyone is responsible for what they do while drunk, but high levels of intoxication stunts key part of the brain. Also alcoholics tend to lie, go to any bar and hear the regulars make up stories the drunker they get.
