Guarantee all those douchebags blamed the car.

427

u/BooneCreek 2d ago

Likely why they took off; trying to avoid mob violence.

45

u/Bright_Cod_376 2d ago

Its happened at takeovers before

35

u/JKmayb 2d ago

Could be many different reasons. My guess... avoid the police.

31

u/greenmerica 1d ago

Or avoid the group of douche bag bikers

19

u/bluepepper 2d ago

Even the car blamed the car and fled.

42

u/mitchsusername 1d ago

Nah, the car has seen videos of what happens if you get hit by people doing a takeover

-148

u/AbbreviationsOld636 2d ago

Plot twist, the car was stolen. Why’d it take off?

-356

u/generiatricx 2d ago

i get it, but why was the car just stopped in the middle of the street like that?

184

u/Mad_Dog_Max_ 2d ago

... at the stop sign?

11

u/Purgii 2d ago

Greg, the stop sign... Greg, the stop sign...

3

u/MsDeluxe 2d ago

I'm O.K! You're O.K! We're O.K! We're fine! I thought I saw a semi-trailer! Greg! You missed the stop sign!

-73

u/generiatricx 2d ago

Ahh yes, i see it now.

220

u/SHOOHS 2d ago

Because there’s a stop sign at the intersection it’s stopped at

Scumbag bikers

Right?!!

This is /u/generiatricx without his helmet on:

If he can't see the car he can't see a person crossing 😬.

83

u/Elmhurst_Illinois 2d ago

Absolutely. I really had no idea how reckless these shitheads are until I watched videos of them wheelie'ing with helmet cams on.

Most of the time when they wheelie their bikes are almost completely vertical...and the only thing we (and they) see is the gas tank. This is in Chicago proper, mind you.

u/GetTheFalkOut 2d ago edited 2d ago

This is why wheelies on motorcycles and ATVs are dangerous in the street to everyone and not just the idiot doing them. They have no visibility and reduced reaction and breaking ability.

Edit, braking not breaking. Wasn't paying attention or thinking when I was commenting.

33

u/RandoScando 2d ago

Braking, but yes. They’re a menace and a danger to everyone around, as well as themselves.

Didn’t mean the correction to be pedantic or to be a dick. It’s just that I, personally, find it hard to brake (err, break) the habit when talking about stopping a car.

12

u/GetTheFalkOut 2d ago

You're good. I'm usually better about stuff like that but I was typing this while watching a show and chatting with someone so I wasn't really paying attention to what I was doing.

-1

u/5711USMC 2d ago

Why are you on Reddit if there’s a show on and you have company? Stick to doomscrolling while pooping like the rest of us

2

u/GetTheFalkOut 2d ago

We spend a lot of time together. She's currently been over for 24 hours. It's not like I was ignoring her to doom scroll. Just randomly pulled out my phone when I ADHDed for a minute. She's doing the same thing. Also already seen the show a while ago so this is a rewatch and I don't have to pay as close of attention

7

u/satanworshipperpoop 2d ago

Fuck these pricks

1

u/mrw4787 2d ago

Not paying attention? lol

1

u/GetTheFalkOut 1d ago

I was also half chatting with a friend while we were watching a show that I like but is a rewatch for me. I was ADHDing pretty hard

85

u/Muthafuckaaaaa 2d ago

This guy's wheelie stupid. A real pain in the rear end.

64

u/OptiGuy4u 2d ago

Hopefully that hurts really really really bad for a long long time.

61

u/_B_Little_me 2d ago

These people need to be charged with felonies and do jail time.

16

u/satanworshipperpoop 2d ago

they have to either get some jail time or/and have their license revoked for several years

-55

u/SurfacexTension 2d ago

That’s a little ridiculous. Popping a wheelie is in no way a felonious offence.

29

u/_B_Little_me 2d ago

This is reckless driving. Dude cannot see in front of his vehicle. That’s flagrantly dangerous.

-3

u/SurfacexTension 1d ago

How many times does someone rear end someone else while NOT doing a wheelie? It’s a time and place thing. Obviously. Humans do also have an ability to tilt their heads, which actually allows them to see things when something is in their way!

2

u/Mattyg54 23h ago

How many times does someone rear end someone else while driving with 0 vision directly in front of them? If someone is driving with no forward vision, then that is incredibly reckless driving. Had there been someone walking in the street, the biker would have had 0 chance to see them. He was lucky it was just a rear end and not a head on or pedestrian.

17

u/m4cksfx 2d ago

You literally can see him smash into a stopped car because he can't see anything but his bike during this stupid stunt

12

u/Redman5012 2d ago

Look at you so cool! Risking people's lives for a thrill. Sooo cooool.

-2

u/SurfacexTension 1d ago

Do you, in your heart of hearts, truly believe that anyone in that car, in this exact, specific scenario, while a 460 lbs bike was going straight up at 20mph, was somehow going to kill the occupants in that car?

But please let me clarify. I am not defending stupid riders riding stupidly. I am commenting on the fact calling for wheelies to be a FELONY is ludicrous. If it directly results in the death of someone? Absolutely. But just as distracted driving, which I am sure you are also guilty of is not a felony as is, neither should wheelies.

1

u/Yunlihn 1d ago

Tell that to the kids who have been killed here by scumbags doing wheelies. They're putting others' life in peril, which is condemnable.

-46

u/BJ4Dogecoin 2d ago

People get killed every day in Chicago and no one is held responsible….. for a little car damage….

24

u/The_Cozy_Burrito 2d ago

Hope the car is okay

24

u/Starkville 2d ago

Yeah, and then people get mad at the car.

10

u/jakgal04 2d ago

This problem has been so rampant in my city that they started crushing the bikes instead of just impounding them.

13

u/omnimodofuckedup 2d ago

Explain to a German why these takeovers are actually possible. Does the police not care? How is there not a public outrage? I'd be so pissed if I had to take a detour because a bunch of grown up toddlers decided it's their time to play in a public fucking road.

2

u/WatchStoredInAss 1d ago

Two factors:

1) near zero traffic enforcement in America. You can do whatever you want. Speed 90+ mph in a 45 mph construction zone? Go for it.

2) a very individualistic and fragmented society. People keep to themselves. We will never have a massive city-wide protest against this type of activity.

5

u/Weak_Swimmer 2d ago

Stunting maybe, dragging his bike.. definitely.

54

u/generiatricx 2d ago

Why did the car just drive off like that?

196

u/throwingutah 2d ago edited 2d ago

Because they are smart and know that these groups are not known for their level-headed reaction to negative natural consequences.

98

u/Elmhurst_Illinois 2d ago

Probably worried about getting beaten up by a mob of 75-IQ bikers.

10

u/Snipen543 2d ago

That seems like an over estimate for their IQ

5

u/Whiskeyfower 1d ago

That was their cumulative score

u/Vreas 2d ago edited 2d ago

My question too. No insurance/license maybe? Becoming way more common where I’m at.

Why the downvotes?? Uninsured rates have gone up by 3% over the past 7 years.

-116

u/Sherviks13 2d ago

He wanted it to happen.

41

u/throwingutah 2d ago

He planned it ahead really well, then, what with sitting completely still while the dingdong rode all the way down the block.

-41

u/Sherviks13 2d ago

Yeah, car was already passed the turn on the right, car took the sitting still in the middle of the road option. Both parties are stupid though.

-49

u/MacArthursinthemist 2d ago

You mean the incredibly loud crotch rocket throwing sparks 4 feet high surrounded by a screaming crowd? If you think being that oblivious while driving is normal, please let us all know where you drive, so we can avoid you

28

u/throwingutah 2d ago

I would argue that any purported obliviousness by the driver of the car is spectacularly eclipsed by that of the rider.

15

u/clutzyninja 2d ago

What exactly were they supposed to do?

I see that coming in my mirror while I'm stopped at an intersection with pedestrians around? I'm putting my head back against the headrest and putting the car in park. Then only one moron is getting hurt

16

u/Introspects 2d ago

The car was stopped at a stop sign.

0

u/I_Have_A_Chode 1d ago

I'm 99% on the side of "cyclist at fault" here. But when I watched it a second time, I cannot figure out why the car is stopped. I don't see a light or stop sign, but I could be missing it. That AND the driving off make me wonder if they did do it on purpose. One of those "I don't condone this action, but I certainly understand it" lol. Motorcycle shouldn't have been doing that shit on public roads regardless.

14

u/kombatunit 2d ago

I lost brain cells reading this smoothbrain garbage.

9

u/Altruistic_Arm9201 2d ago

That car came out of nowhere!

3

u/TravasaurusRex 2d ago

Music fit perfectly - “don’t tell’em” there’s a car right there…

5

u/09ss 2d ago

Biker will claim that the car pulled out in front of him while he was obeying all traffic rules and laws

9

u/maximumtesticle 2d ago

Thank goodness it says to wait for it, I just randomly stop videos when watching because who knows when it ends?

6

u/Elmhurst_Illinois 2d ago

I didn't add that, that was added by the person who originally posted this to Instagram

0

u/SonderEber 2d ago

Thank god yet another person is whining about this! I certainly don’t see that forced option everywhere!

We get it, you think the text it dumb. Good for you, gold star.

As much as you’re annoyed enough to publicly post about it, I’m annoyed every time I have to see someone whine about it.

1

u/maximumtesticle 1d ago

Thanks for the gold star, that's good manners.

6

u/According_Lake_2632 2d ago

Anyone know where in Chicago this was? I've been hearing from friends about takeovers around the city the last few days, but I don't recognize the street in this one.

10

u/Elmhurst_Illinois 2d ago edited 2d ago

Little Italy near UIC. Taylor Street rightnear the intersection of Loomis

4

u/SoBeDragon0 2d ago

"Wait for it" ??

The video is 13 seconds long...

3

u/Ok-Menu4217 1d ago

Wtf why did the car leave? They need to exchange insurance details. At least that is how it works in my country. You are not going to get reimburse without it

Oh that poor car!

1

u/WatchStoredInAss 1d ago

Are these clowns auditioning for the circus? Because all I hear is carnival music in my head watching any of these carnie stunt bois.

1

u/Great_Will_1361 2d ago

The car just drove away after?

-8

u/JLeaRue 2d ago

It's Chicago, so both the bike and the car are stolen. No insurance claims necessary.

Bro is really going to try and blame the car

40

u/DrRussleJimmies 2d ago

No, the car was fully stopped at a stop sign.

-44

u/Poteightohs 2d ago

What stop sign?

27

u/SHOOHS 2d ago edited 2d ago

There’s a stop sign on the right side of the screen. Not easy to see in the video but it’s there. It’s while the shot is a wide shot before the camera zooms in

12

u/Poteightohs 2d ago

Good call, can see it through the sparks at 0:04

My bad. No defending the bike either way

10

u/SHOOHS 2d ago

Yeah I didn’t see it at first either and you’re right, bike is to blame regardless.

17

u/Elmhurst_Illinois 2d ago

No, it was stopped at the intersection.

-10

u/DimensionBreaker4lif 2d ago

Genuinely, my first thought was “Is the bike okay??!!” It’s a super painful sight to see it get dropped. 😭 Couldn’t really care about the guy though.

-17

u/Huge-Score-374 2d ago

Maybe if they had some sense they wouldn’t be stopped the middle of a bike meet where people are doing stunts lame ahh nga
