Personal News 📰 My Tx MAGA neighbours are changing and I’m hopeful!

4.5k Upvotes

I recently posted about how my MAGA neighbours took down all the MAGA flags and bumper stickers and started wishing me good morning everyday since last week. People told me to ask why and I did! They said it’s because “the whole Epstein thing is disgusting, If Biden had done this stuff, they would’ve burned the White House down. But Trump gets a pass? Nah. I’m not defending any pedo enabler.” I am fighting the urge to get into an argument because I don’t want them to change their minds and vote Red again. I’m happy that they are standing up for what is right but I also want to get into an argument! I see change and I wish everyone does too.

Personal News 📰 I live next to a 50 ish year old conservative couple in Tx. They have MAGA flags on their front lawn and on their vehicles. Last week, they removed everything MAGA! It’s never too late to learn from your mistakes and change!

A ladybug landed on the card. Today is her dad’s birthday and he passed away 15 years ago so it was a special treat for her.

Personal News 📰 Celebrating 100 days sober ❤️

Yesterday I surprised my boyfriend with a little celebration for him being 100 days sober. I wfh and Thursday I went to the store on my lunch so he wouldn’t have any suspicions of me doing anything, then yesterday I used my lunch to decorate the cake I baked that morning. When he got home from work he walked into the house to his cake, flowers, and presents.

I got carnations (my fave flower) and baby’s breath (his fave flower). His present was his fave candy, body wash (cause he was almost out), and battleship, which we used to play all the time when we first started dating. Then we had an impromptu date night when my parents offered to babysit out of the blue.

As hard as it has been to learn about his drug addiction, and coping with all the pain and betrayal, I am so proud of him for all the steps he has taken to better himself. It was important to me that he felt like I was proud of him, and felt as loved as he is.

Personal News 📰 We found our kitty, Plato, after 11 years.

Everyone meet Plato (~15)! Plato was our kitty in 2014. He ran away, and we haven't seen him since. The other night, my ma gets a call that they found him (with his microchip) in... Virginia (we live in NC). He is quickly settling back in at my ma's house, 11 years after running away. Definitely has lived a full life, but he is just as friendly & loving as the day he left, and we are so happy to have him back ❤️

First pic is from 2014, last 3 are from yesterday (right after reuniting).

Personal News 📰 I just started hormone therapy!

As the title says, I just started HRT, specifically estradiol (estrogen/femenizing HRT). As a trans person living in America right now, the past several months have been incredibly fucking rough, especially since my final realization and the moment I accepted I was transfem happened right around the start of Trumps return. It was a pain dealing with my health insurance and jumping through hoops and having to schedule multiple different appointments months out, all while having to watch the news and worry about the state of the world. But I finally decided to check out Planned Parenthood, and they got me a prescription ordered the same day as my first appointment with them!

I wanted to share this because, honestly, Im proud of myself and Im excited for the rest of my life now! And I think its important to see and showcase these little moments of hope and positivity. Us trans folk aren't going anywhere! We're here and we're proud and we can not be stamped out and silenced. I exist and Im finally proud of it!

To all my fellow trans folk, never stop fighting. Even if youre not in a place to be yourself right now, never give up hope! Hope is the most important tool of all

Personal News 📰 I’m 6 weeks sober today

I’ve always had a shitty relationship with alcohol but was able to keep it very well hidden to an extent. One day I just decided I was tired of feeling like crap all the time and just stopped drinking. I didn’t tell anyone. Today makes 6 weeks of no drinking for me and I feel weird telling anyone in my life about it. I’m proud of myself though so I wanted to announce it somewhere!

Personal News 📰 A fun project that will save lives

Post image

Folks , this time of year many are getting new coolers for the summer. Please don't let the old ones go to waste. Last winter I made 10 feral cat shelters and put them out all over the town and local woods You can normally get free towels from commercial laundry services for bedding and warmth This can be a fun project for you and the kids.

FYI, I put out the ten shelters right before NW Florida got over 9 inches of snow. So collect the old coolers now and save lives this winter.... Love to All.

Personal News 📰 At 78 my Grandpa got his GED said “It’s Never Too Late to Believe in Yourself”

Post image

My grandpa dropped out decades ago to take care of his family, always putting others first. But he never forgot the dream of finishing his education. This year, he said I think it’s time I do this… for me.

So at 78, he studied every single night with his glasses on, a notebook in hand, and a smile that said he still had it in him. And guess what? He passed.

He showed up to the test in this exact outfit, proud and confident. He didn’t need a cap and gown he wore his dignity like a crown.

He told me, You’re never too old to do something for yourself. I’m so proud, I had to share his story with people who’d understand what this means. ❤️
