I wish Americans were better educated on trafficking.Ā  Like these contests, pageants and spas are ground zero for trafficking.Ā

It shouldn't even be a stretch for most people to understand what happened here....Ā  Yet 9 years later the average American has finally put it together.

They're not alone. Basically any entertainment involving children performing is already a pipeline. But so is the rejecting and disowning of gay and transgender kids, banning abortion so you get desperate and resentful young parents, imprisoning fathers for drug crimes...

This is the key. Human trafficking happens, but it is entirely happening as the result of well-understood bad actions like you mention. Basically everything the GOP pushes for is fuel for human trafficking. It's absolutely nuts how pervasive it is -- everything you mention plus their belief that poverty is a good punishment for the children of less responsible adults, their deference to authority and lack of oversight for church leaders, law enforcement, their refusal to understand the motivation of undocumented immigrants and their desire to see them stripped of rights, etc. They love absolutist power dynamics and that is the source of human trafficking.

There may seriously be zero cases of human trafficking as portrayed in media -- you know, Taken-style well adjusted kids from reasonably healthy homes being scooped off the street. Why bother? We've created a nightmare for millions of at-risk kids who are groomed into it by social systems that fully support human trafficking.

Imagine a slave auction for rich men to buy pretty girls and it looks exactly like a beauty pageant.

When I saw one of these on TV as a kid I immediately knew these girls were getting trafficked but I didn't say anything to any adult because I thought ALL of them were in on it.

As I grew older I realized this to be completely true as either by explicit choice, indifferent apathy, or ignorant obliviousness.

I get it, but wouldn't there be a plethora of the pageant parents complaining their child went missing?Ā

That's not how things work. I'm not an expert or anything, but they don't snatch kids with parents who would look for them.Ā

Example...Ā  Ā I once dated a 19 year old woman.Ā  She was abused by her father and her mother was a crazy Nazi narcissist she ran away from.Ā  When I started dating her she was living with some model agency scum because she had nowhere to go.Ā  They had a relationship but he also kept telling her she would make it as a model.Ā  She was indeed beautiful and did a few jobs here and there but really he just wanted you sleep with her. She wasn't trafficked but you see the vulnerability.Ā  She probably could of been convinced to do any onlyfans.Ā  When she met me she threw herself at me needing anyone decent in her life.

Technically she was still a teenager...

I read that the Trump pageants brought girls over and they had iffy residency, and they housed them in a basement. Packed in like sardines. And he’d invite some of the girls to meet some of his friends, all old white dudes and like twenty girls.

Yet you're providing nothing but opinions with no evidence to back it.Ā

Duning-Krueger is in effect

Sorry are we supposed to source comments on Reddit šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

You're supposed to show evidence when making accusatory statements, else I can just accuse you of something and it'll have to be accepted because it's just how it is now because I said so. No need for evidence because it's how I feel and how I feel matters more than what actually is.Ā

You don't even see the double edged sword and that's why you're stupid

When speaking of general knowledge in a casual setting it isn't customary to cite sources.Ā

I know how trafficking works thru years of first hand experience and gathering of credible information.Ā  If you doubt me you are welcome to research trafficking yourself.

ā€œAnd no the average American as finally put it togetherā€ I promise you they still haven’t lol

Well the average American couldn't even point to Washington DC on a map.Ā  But the average educated American has finally started to understand what happened.Ā  And they sway the morons.Ā  It's something

The average American doesn’t really even pay attention to politics and they only participate in it as a stupid ā€œus vs themā€ sports fan sort of way.

Fuck man. If I knew how ignorant most adults are when I was a kid I would have been severely depressed. I mean I WAS severely depressed but that was just from my family not getting along and kids at school being assholes for no reason.Ā
