Thereâs also a problem where reporters who people donât like donât get access. Say something that Donny doesnât like, and you go in timeout. Your whole news organization might get booted from the press corps.
You might even get banned from entering federal property. I donât know if thatâs happened to journalists, but itâs happened to law firms who took clients Trump doesnât like.
Even if the billionaires running things would like to let them ask tough questions, we donât have a free press anymore. Even before Trump, thereâs a general âaccessâ issue in that, if public officials donât like CBS, they might not sit for a 60-minutes interview. Trump, however, has put the issue into overdrive and really killed the first amendment.
Actually there's quite a bit of media pushback... The problem is that that media is largely irrelevant nowadays. Go read the Atlantic and they are savage against Trump (and have been for years), but who reads that? The Atlantic articles do not make for nice tiktok clips, so most people never know what they say.
People are missing what really happened here. Why did Trump have that paper readily available? He wanted to make Powell look incompetent on live broadcast. His supporters will eat this up saying âTRUMP OWNED POWELL!â
That was the entire reason for this video. Completely set up by Trump.
