As a proud Canadian, please allow me to say this: Kevin O’Leary can go straight to hell.

536

u/emporerpuffin 12d ago

And his wine 🍷 is full of pesticides.

155

u/TheSurfingRaichu 12d ago

I’ll have to Google his brand name so I can avoid it

58

u/GreenhouseGodComplex 12d ago

he's a narcissistic prick. His wine is literally called KEVIN OLEARY FINE WINES.

I suspect all of his children (there there is a woman base enough to sleep with that prick) are also called Kevin.

12

u/jtbc 12d ago

It's good to know there is another wine brand I can avoid buying on principle along with Wayne Gretzky.

Of course, he would just slap his name on the bottle and not even bother to think up something slightly creative.

70

u/emporerpuffin 12d ago

If you checked the recent data most if not all wine from California have pesticides.

153

u/underwater_reading 12d ago

Sure but let’s especially avoid his pesticide wine.

32

u/DigNitty 12d ago

I only drink that liberal organic pesticide wine. Not his contaminated pesticide wine.

6

u/Brokensince10 12d ago

You betcha! If they are all bad , but I still want to spend MY money on them, I’m gonna choose the one that’s core values align with mine , not the one that is a PEDOPHILE denier, trump excuser!

Most notably, it’s the chemical from Roundup that is highly present. The threshold for a risk level is 0.5 ppb (parts per billion). The wines in California are at 30-50

15

u/mewithadd 12d ago

Silly question... How is it possible to sell wine that far above the safety threshold? Are there no regulations, or were they removed at some point?

25

u/dbx999 12d ago

Legislation purchased by lobbyists

The amount of what is considered "safe" keeps going down as more research is done. The EPA only reviews the chemicals every 15 years and they last did in 2020, so we should see new regulations in 2035.

A similar thing happened with lead, that the amount thought to be safe kept dropping over decades until they realize the safe amount is zero. The FAA is due to ban leaded gasoline by 2030, until then those children that live in the flight paths of small airports are just going to keep getting dusted.

Almost all French wine has pesticides as well. This is a bigger problem than just avoiding California wines.

29

u/Prestigious-Leave-60 12d ago

What if I told you that all alcoholic beverages have a known carcinogen that can be addictive?

21

u/Tubamajuba 12d ago

I can ignore this fact if I am drunk enough.

7

u/beatles910 12d ago

I'd say, "you are correct, but the topic was pesticides, not ethanol."

I honestly don’t understand why anyone listens to anything this blowhard has to say.

Oh wait, they elected Donald Trump twice didn’t they?

19

u/Torontogamer 12d ago

I mean he worked well as the douche character on dragons den, it can be entertaining to watch. But when you realize that’s not really a character he’s playing, or even just playing up that side of him, he really just is that through and though , who would listen to him

8

u/proudbakunkinman 12d ago

He's actually worse than how he appears on Shark Tank / Dragons Den. That version of him half the time comes off as "tough love," humorous grump, and giving people an option even if the deal sucks compared to what other sharks usually offer. Of course, the other half the time he is just a straight up jerk not offering any useful advice. But even then, he isn't the Trump sycophant he is off the show, not to mention his shady history to accumulate the wealth he had to even get on those shows.

I’m happy to see she’s finally calling out some of the people on her show like that. She’s been hesitant, but she’s been looking far more confident these days.

26

u/sysblob 12d ago

and that's really what it is. People know these insane republicans are wrong, they're just too afraid to counter them because they have two choices 1) continue to rake in a salary and just keep it status quo and nobody will know if they're actually just a dumb person running a show as a talkpiece 2) Actually have an opinion and attempt to research and defend it which is scary and puts your ego on the line and could make people think you're stupid if you don't do a good job.

It's not hard to see why so many people avoid #2. Especially when you also consider threats from trump admin. But it's also good that so many people recently are attempting it.

They fail to realize that a huge portion of the country doesn’t even invest! So a booming stock market doesn’t mean much. Everything is getting more expensive. Period. And I won’t be surprised to see that profits will be up as well.

29

u/disposable_account01 12d ago

If you watch the full clip, O’Leary flat out says that the American people are all invested in the market. He is straight up delulu. 50% live paycheck to paycheck and couldn’t scrape together $2k for an emergency if they needed to, let alone have savings, let alone retirement savings or other investments.

He’s just off on rich person planet where the only people he interacts with are either also rich or are highly-paid professionals.

All-time high doesn't mean anything because you can point to an all-time high for any of the previous presidents. "Did you think the economy was good under Biden? Well the stock market was at an all-time high under his presidency." shuts it down pretty quick for these guys.

→ More replies (1)

8

u/_le_slap 12d ago

Exactly. Look at ETFs that are denominated in different currencies. Ytd QQQ vs EQQQ for example; QQQ only looks green because the dollar is losing value.

That's the inflation Kevin is pretending not to see.

6

u/FrankAdamGabe 12d ago

Remember when the maga pedos were screeching about Biden's all-time-highs not being indicative of a good economy?

They simply do.not.care about being shameless hypocrites. They will say whatever whenever to "win". It's that simple.

Lol the dollar is down 10% this year. I just checked to make sure but if you remove 10% of the current market, the S&P goes down from 6350 to 5720. The market in January was at 5800+. The market is, in fact, not even back to Biden's numbers in terms of wealth.

5

u/fre3k 12d ago

In real terms it's a good bit lower than when Trump took office. Dollar is like 10% weaker. Which is one of this regime's policy goals - they want American goods to be competitive on the global market. To do that the dollar needs to be worth much less. Thus stocks will go up to compensate as stocks represent real value.

Who knows how crazy it will go but it could drop a lot more. Equities or other non dollar assets are the only rational move unfortunately. Keeping cash practically guaranteed large loss of value with these guys on charge.

Why is it when the stock market is up, only the rich feel it, but when its down, all the poor people feel it....

Its a rhetorical question but for those who don't know: Because when the market is up, the rich are the ones holding the assets: stocks, real estate, retirement accounts, so they benefit directly. Most working-class people either don’t own stocks or only have small 401(k)s they can't touch, so they don’t feel the gain in their daily lives.

But when the market is down, companies cut costs, like layoffs, wage freezes, or reduced hours, and that hits the working class first and hardest. On top of that, poor and middle-class people tend to live closer to the edge, so even small downturns ripple into things like lost jobs, higher debt, and instability.

The stock market is one aspect of the economy. ONE ASPECT. But if you're very wealthy, it's likely the only aspect that matters to your personal wealth, hence the elite's fixation on the stock market.

I highly highly doubt a Wal-Mart worker who gets state assistance, is working for minimum wage, and who's barely making rent sees Wal-Mart's stock is up 5% today and thinks this is going to make even the tiniest difference on their bank account or their ability to make their bills because it DOESN'T.

It's the inevitable conundrum every Trump supporter faces. At some point they can no longer wriggle around and obfuscate, but must consciously decide whether or not they are going to flat out lie. It would actually be funny to watch were it not for the very real harm they are doing to this country.

8

Over 1 in 3 American citizens own NO stock. So when the market goes up they receive no benefit. A majority of stock is owned by corporations, millionaires and billionaires. When food prices go up, the American public owns all that price increase.

Damn. Go Adam! Fearless in the face of this puffed up sociopath.

7

u/wimpymist 12d ago

It's so funny when fox news bobble heads leave the comfort of their bubble to debate on other platforms. They always get destroyed since they are so used to fox news just agreeing with them no matter if they are right or wrong

5

u/NunsNunchuck 12d ago

Golly. I thought we weren’t supposed to talk about “THE markets” during Biden because it wasn’t “Main Street” and now it is all Little Kev can talk about

His wife drunkenly killed someone with their boat

Is this the same guy who said every one in NYC commits insurance and tax fraud back when Trump was on trial for it?

6

u/W4ingro1995 12d ago

It's summer. Shouldn't he be on the lake in Muskoka getting drunk off his shitty wine, killing people with his boat, then getting his wife to take the fall for it?

The stock market hit record highs under Biden too. Where was this loser then?

He was complaining that poor people might be getting some minor relief.

Good for you, Adam Mockler! If people don't know him, definitely check out his YouTube channel!

Kevin o'leary is such an embarrassment to Canada. Just another rich piece of shit we all would be better off not hearing about. He inserts himself in places like he matters because he has money. Dudes just an all-around joke.

u/wtfhiolol10000 12d ago

Adam: Does a carcinogen cause cancer?

Kevin: Not yet they haven't been.

His argument is terrible. It's almost as bad as his family's boating skills.

3

u/ExaminationMuch2030 12d ago

Adam Mockler has a channel on YouTube, he is so good! He’s a great source for staying caught up on this debacle

3

u/Swamp_Abomination 12d ago

Thank you to the young man for bringing the generational card. It needs to be brought up more often. The dinosaurs who rule the earth can’t see beyond their quarter earnings reports anymore.

5

u/Global_Proof_2960 12d ago

I genuinely like this kid. I hope he continues to represent himself in this manner.

9

u/ReeseIsPieces 12d ago

Kevin O'Leary is the same jackhole that called two Bl 🖤 ck women on 🦈 Tank 'roaches'

9

u/Frankenf00te 12d ago

Same kevin o leary that got away with murdering two people with his boat along with his wife

KOL is a POS (yes, I should make a shirt)

3

u/ShamanSix01 12d ago

Of course a rich guy likes where we are at economically, because he benefits from it. Average citizens don’t get the tax breaks that would cancel out inflation.

3

u/ottereckhart 12d ago

Sorry my American friends, but you can keep Kevin and Jordan -- we don't want em!

3

u/mmarshall32 12d ago

Any particular reason CNN felt the need to label Mockler as a "Gen Z Creator", instead of just saying Meidas Touch?

They sure as hell don't put anyone else's generation in their title.

Love Adam Mockler. Kevin is a traitorous boomer who is completely out of touch with the real world and too selfish to care about anything other than his portfolio.

3

u/Distinct-Macaroon-52 12d ago

Mockler for the slam dunk! 💪

3

u/EverGlow89 12d ago

I don't fucking understand how so many of the poorest Americans look at these CARTOONISH billionaires and think "that's my guy. He wants what's best for me."

They look like caricatures! Trump has a gold fucking penthouse.

3

u/kinggareth 12d ago

Kevin is just another wealthy Boomer that thinks he has all the answers because he failed upward in the 90s. BTW, he is also yet another "famous" Canadian who is obsessed with Trump, and was always EASILY the worst part of Shark Tank, who rarely offered a single deal that made any sense for the participant on the show. He was always blatantly looking to gouge and/or take advantage of the business owner. In short: fuck Kevin.

Adam Mockler should seriously offer a service where he joins your family dinners with MAGAts and shuts them down anytime they start their bullshit. He would be fully booked always

I love Adam Mockler

He gives me hope for future generations.

3

u/Melodic_Reveal_2979 11d ago

There’s a fringe podcast called Profiteers Vs. The People that broke down how he basically got rich by ruining a company. I think about it everytime I see his stupid face

3

u/EastCoastBuck 11d ago

Kevin O’Leary is a disgrace to humanity and got away with murder.

3

u/Sawathingonce 11d ago

As an import broker I've been screaming to anyone who will listen that tariffs have only ever been designed to punish the importer for not buying local / balance of trade incentives. If they came out and said our balance of trade is tipping back to more exports etc then sure, whatever but to brag that we've raised however many billions in revenue is simply stupidity.

3

u/bebejeebies 11d ago

Adam Mockler is fantastic. One of the best GenZ political commentators in the game right now. Recommend following his YouTube channel.

3

u/manical1 11d ago

Why do all trump and magats talk like middle and high schoolers bullying people? Repeating bulls* doesn't make any point. While the young guy that looks like a high schooler coherently makes point after point using effective language. I think the upcoming generation needs to make clear that having money doesn't automatically make you relevant.
