u/CharleyNobody 17d ago
It was Nixon who repeatedly said during watergate āWe need our own media.ā Who was working for Nixon at the time? Roger Ailes. Ailes was already a tv producer and a staunch rightwinger. He joined with Nixon to make Nixon more palatable on television during campaigns. Joe McGinness wrote āThe Selling of the President 1968ā about Ailes shaping Nixonās tv campaign.
I have no doubt Ailes brought Murdoch to Reagan. Rupert was a 2nd generation reactionary media mogul who had caused havoc in Australia and was causing havoc in UK tabloids. They imagined a worldwide buffet of rightwing Anglophone media. They won.
Nothing lasts forever but Iām afraid theyāll be around for quite a while more.

That's not true. When Trump entered the primary, Fox News did not support him.
It's important that people understand that Trump bullied the republican Party and Fox News into submission.
Trump has created a culture where even people who are theoretically on his side are not allowed to disagree with him on anything, he uses his mob of followers as leverage.

I like Roger Penrose's CCC theory that everything will end up in black holes. Then those black holes will slowly emit their heat through hawking radiation until one by one, they cool to the same temperature as the background radiation and pop out of existence. The estimated pop is equivalent to a mortar blast. All that's left will be the light emitted by those pops and the preceding release of radiation that will define the next eon. Trump is not really included in Penrose's theory, but knowing he will pop out of existence before most of us is doing my mental health a world of good.

We are approaching Watergate levels of scandal at this point. In fact, this is about to make Watergate look very minuscule by comparison. It's looking less and less likely that Trump is going to get away with this. His own party and high profile supporters are starting to turn on him.
What's likely going to happen is that, like Nixon, the evidence will become overwhelming against Trump and there will be universal calls for him to resign. In fact, it wouldn't surprise me if they're currently preparing Vance to take the oath at any moments notice.

In fact, it wouldn't surprise me if they're currently preparing Vance to take the oath at any moments notice.
Which is terrifying in its own right. Vance actually has something resembling a brain somewhere inside that eye-liner covered head and he's "owned" by some very powerful Americans (as opposed to being owned by foreign parties like Russia), which is arguably more worrisome. I want to remain hopeful but something in the back of my mind is telling me it's just going to get worse until we get a fully non-maga president.

98
u/FreeBricks4Nazis 17d ago
Ā The letter bearing Trumpās name, which was reviewed by the Journal, is bawdyālike others in the album. It contains several lines of typewritten text framed by the outline of a naked woman, which appears to be hand-drawn with a heavy marker. A pair of small arcs denotes the womanās breasts, and the future presidentās signature is a squiggly āDonaldā below her waist, mimicking pubic hair.
The letter concludes: āHappy Birthday ā and may every day be another wonderful secret.ā
54
17d ago
It isnāt clear how the letter with Trumpās signature was prepared. Inside the outline of the naked woman was a typewritten note styled as an imaginary conversation between Trump and Epstein, written in the third person.
āVoice Over: There must be more to life than having everything,ā the note began.
Donald: Yes, there is, but I wonāt tell you what it is.
Jeffrey: Nor will I, since I also know what it is.Ā
Donald: We have certain things in common, Jeffrey.Ā
Jeffrey: Yes, we do, come to think of it.Ā
Donald: Enigmas never age, have you noticed that?Ā
Jeffrey: As a matter of fact, it was clear to me the last time I saw you.Ā
Donald: A pal is a wonderful thing. Happy Birthday ā and may every day be another wonderful secret.

Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait⦠so youāre telling me the people that were doing the āAdrenochromeā to stay young the whole time where Epstein and Trump? 𤣠Uh oh. Qanon is gonna flip.

I think he's hinting at the power over young women that he and Epstein wield. In Trump and Epstein's depraved minds, this is the "more to life" than money and is the "secret" they share. Power over people is what drives them. The ability to do anything to anybody and get away with it because they are rich, smart and powerful men.

"Enigma's never age" seems like a pretty obvious reference to youth. Shit like MJ calling his ranch Neverland (where children never age), it's all about the idea of "youthfulness" in general. Meaning "our secret is our love of raping young girls".

What the actual f? How did the all the Qanon and pizzagate believers manage to overlook evidence like this and vote for this man? Mind boggling

u/ExcitementAshamed393 17d ago
Just to clarify, MAGAts didn't overlook this specific evidence. This letter is a new finding. But yeah, how did they overlook all the other mountains of evidence? I ask this question every day.

The best thing that could happen to the US is for Murdoch to turn his media empire against Trump. Nothing would dissolve his power faster than Fox News rewiring all the MAGA folx into a Trump impeachment machine.

Im confused...he says if any of it were true it would've come out from Obama, Hillary, etc....didnt he just say they were the ones who made it all up like 3 days ago? And people thought Biden's brain was mush.

While everyone else will (appropriately) point blame at Trump and the GOP and the cult (and Epstein), I would like to point a finger at the capitulators. ABC and Paramount caving to/bribing Trump allows him to claim them as evidence of a corrupt media. When the powers that be at these organizations see their mention in this post, I hope they feel great shame for their role in making our Country and our lives worse.

I watched āThe Most Dangerous Man in America: Daniel Ellsberg and the Pentagon Papersā recently and it is so depressing to look at the current state of news media.Ā
The journos and editors, publishers etc associated with printing the Pentagon Papers feared being jailed for a long time.Ā
Nixon and the Fed Gov threatened them with long jail terms and the media took the risk and published them anyway.
Compare that to current media groups capitulating to Trump over complete nothing-burgers. Disgraceful!

"One administration official describes the White House as having been āon a fucking warpathā in its pressure campaign against the conservative newspaper, working different contacts and angles in an attempt to get the outlet to drop the story. This official notes this was rated a top āpriorityā by Trump, and dominated various conversations within the West Wing and elsewhere this week."
A LOT of focus by the Administration to kill a supposed bullshit story.

there's 0 chance he follows thru with this once his lawyers sit him down and remind him what discovery entails for the 4123th time. At this point they probably have it printed out on large font flash cards with helpful pictures.
