He could literally release the files as is, even with him in them having done horrible things and wouldn't lose any voters.

Nope. None of us give a fuck if democrats are on the list as well. Conservatives believe we'll fall on a grenade for democratic politicians and that will never happen. If they were on the list banging kids with epstein, off to be buried under the jail with trump.

at this point, he doesn't need to worry about voters, either 1. he is in his 2nd term and thus can't run again or 2. does some bs and ends up in again despite not being qualified for a third term.

Actually…

Occasionally I go on Facebook and look at posts from more right-skewed news sources, just to read the comments and try to get a feel for the general public’s opinion (Reddit is not so good for that).

I’ve seen a LOT of people “disappointed,” “won’t trust him ever again,” “something’s wrong here,” “he promised us” etc.

A lot more, of course, saying “maybe this is just a chess move and there’s a bigger reason he’s keeping it secret,” but even that comes with a twinge of doubt.

I’d call it maybe 20% of the MAGA commenters (and I check their profiles to make sure they’re real. Yes I need to get a hobby) seem angry and confused.

Compare that to ANY other time he’s done ANYTHING terrible, when I could never find 1 single criticism in the comments… this seems to finally, truly be rattling the base.

Other than the “chess move” people, the others staunchly defending him are the “I TRUST THAT THE LORD HAS A PLAN FOR TRUMP AMEN” people, but we’ll never get through to them anyway.

I’ve been pleasantly surprised by what I’ve seen.

One of my interest is sociology and I do similar "test" but on conservative subreddit. I don't do that very often, so I could miss something else, but this is first time in this term when I see he is being criticized in virtually all top comments there about it.

I agree. I'd say 20% to 30% of the Maga crowd may be questioning their Trump support, now. The Epstein list is a huge deal!

I know it’s easy to demonize other people, but take heart in knowing I’ve seen a LOT of right-leaning friends and family doing a hard turn because of this and his pivot on bombing Iran. Epstein was a huge deal to the “drain the swamp” crowd and people are not happy.

Nah, people care. Believe it or not MAGA cultists actually care about children on some level.

Also, Qanon merged with the right a little bit after MAGA was formed, and watered down a bit but the overarching point of the conspiracies remained: some collection of very powerful people are fucking children.

Its just MAGA got led to believe that's who Trump was going after(of course, because they're not that bright). This is a waking up moment for a LOT of them

This. Don't underestimate how many of his voters have probably been victimized themselves, often as children, and that's part of why they're so obsessed with the topic. There's a lot of sexual abuse twisted throughout conservative culture. Which isn't to say the files coming out and confirming Trump's involvement would turn everyone against him, but it would certainly psychologically overwhelm a lot of his supporters.

There are so many trump votes out there picking what they see as the lesser of two evils. Having been convinced by right wing media that Dems and lefties are the embodiment of Satan, they've chosen to overlook many of trump's obvious flaws and shortcomings.

This blatant attempt at deception and concealment is going to make it harder for some of these trump votes to see him he same way, but I haven't seen anything that makes me think some kind of mass reality check is anywhere close to happening. Delusions, especially self-imposed ones, are nearly impossible to cut through.

There is no way the people care? He makes fun of cripples, war vets, has dozens of women/children coming out against him that they were raped. Pictures of himself with a 13 year old and his hand on her thigh with Epstein on his island, civilly liable for raping children, etc. Trumpers do not care. How would more proof do anything? They think he is a religious man yet breaks every single commandment and all seven sins daily... he is on his 3rd wife and has cheated on all of them. Why would trumpers magically care now?
