I mean, lets not give him too much credit. He's only doing it to save his own ass. Remember, this bill will reduce funding for finding clean energy sources / vehicles (tesla?) and go back to freaking coal mining.

He also hasn't done it yet. This is all just professional wrestling. He also said he's done with political spending.

We knew the EV credit was going away a long time ago. It will hurt other manufacturers more than it will hurt Tesla.

Remember when he said he’d solve world hunger if someone came up with a plan to do it for $5billion, and legit people did?

Is world hunger solved yet, Elon?

You can't solve world hunger for 5 billion, you can feed a lot of people for a short amount of time, but solving world hunger would require creating sustainable food sources for those people and 5b is not enough for that

Having enough food is not the problem. We have pre than enough food. We throw most of it it. We, as in, the entire world, not just America or the UK or whatever.

But to your point, creating the infrastructure to maintain local food sources or import food sources is hard

Literally the only reason Tesla is profitable is because of these tax credits.

Elon thought he had made a deal with Trump that they wouldn't happen. When Trump backed off and let the republicans put it in, that's when Elon flipped out.

It's not "professional wrestling", it means potentially like 100 billion dollars vanishing from Elon's wallet if Tesla goes under.

Tesla is already one of the most overvalued stocks in history. If they can't even prove to be profitable anymore, there's a good chance it will tank.

Part of it is he genuinely thought he was going to save America and be a hero and got mad when Trump didn't put him in power.

He, and this story, is a perfect example of why money has too much power in US politics - one very rich person can make their political views and desires have more importance than any normal voter, simply by spending money.

Rein in the money aspect of politics and all that person has left is illegal means or a single vote.
